Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes receiving a downlink signal comprising an uplink access configuration index, using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among a predetermined plurality of uplink access configurations, and transmitting to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving, in a first subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology. Variants of this method, corresponding apparatuses, and corresponding network-side methods and apparatuses are also disclosed.

Network architecture, methods, and devices for a wireless communications network

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method and device for determining feedback timing. In example embodiments, the first communication device obtains information indicating at least one of a capability, a timing requirement, and a service type of a second communication device. Based on the obtained information, the first communication device determines feedback timing to be used by the second communication device. Then, the first communication device sends an indication of the feedback timing to the second communication device for communication with the second communication device in accordance with the feedback timing.

The present disclosure relates to methods and arrangements for configuring radio link measurement reporting in a wireless communication system supporting a plurality of radio link reporting mechanisms. The present disclosure relates to methods and arrangements for performing wireless device assisted handover form a source access node to a target access node. Performed in a wireless device, the disclosure presents a method for performing wireless device assisted handover from a source access node to a target access node in a wireless network. The method comprises performing (S) one or more mobility measurements for corresponding candidate radio links and selecting (S), from the one or more candidate radio links, an initial target link based on the performed one or more mobility measurements. A first radio link measurement report, based on the one or more mobility measurements, identifying the initial target link, is transmitted (S) to the source target node using a first radio link reporting mechanism whereupon communication over the initial target link is initiated (S). A second radio link measurement report for the one or more candidate radio links and based on the same one or more mobility measurements, is transmitted (S) on the initial target link using a second radio link measurement report different from the first radio link reporting mechanism.

According to an embodiment, a first amount of physical resource blocks (PRBs) available in the nonstandard bandwidth is determined. Method and apparatus for implementing nonstandard bandwidth as well as network device comprising the apparatus

The present disclosure relates to a network node and a method performed by the network node for radio resource allocation. The method includes allocating a number of subframes to a first terminal device for uplink transmission, in which the first terminal device repeatedly transmits its data to the network node for N times, wherein N is an integer greater than 1. Then the network node decodes the data received from the first terminal device after the data has been received for M times, wherein M is an integer smaller than N; and records, after the received data from the first terminal device is successfully decoded, rest of subframes being allocated to the first terminal device as recycling uplink resource. The recycling uplink resource can be reused by other communication links although been allocated to the first terminal device, thus radio resource can be utilized more efficiently.

According to an embodiment, signal metrics and positions of a plurality of user equipments within a coverage area of an antenna array are acquired. Performed in a wireless device, a method comprises performing (S) one or more mobility measurements for corresponding candidate radio links and selecting (S), from the one or more candidate radio links, an initial target link based on the performed one or more mobility measurements. A first radio link measurement report based on the one or more mobility measurements, identifying the initial target link is transmitted (S) to a target node providing the initial target link, using a first radio link reporting mechanism. A second radio link measurement report for the one or more candidate radio links and based on the same one or more mobility measurements, is transmitted (S) to the source access node using a second radio link measurement report different from the first radio link reporting mechanism. Finally, a wireless device connection is initiated (S) over a handover target link indicated in a handover command from the source access node or over the initial target link, wherein the wireless device connection is initiated over the initial target link based on a reception status for the handover command.
