The invention discloses a method, in an OLT in a passive optical network, of identifying a long-shining rogue ONU, the method comprising the steps of: A. allocating a specific radio frequency signal at a different frequency to each of ONUs in the passive optical network; and B. when the long-shining rogue ONU is detected in the passive optical network: b1. broadcasting a control message to each of the ONUs; b2. receiving uplink signals in the uplink; b3. recovering the specific radio frequency signals transmitted by the normal ONUs from the uplink signals; and b4. identifying an absent specific radio frequency signal according to the recovered specific radio frequency signals, wherein the ONU corresponding to the absent specific radio frequency signal is the long-shining rogue ONU. The invention further discloses an OLT device performing the method and a method, in an ONU, of assisting the OLT in identifying a long-shining rogue ONU.

Method of identifying long-shining rogue ONU in passive optical network

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for determining a rogue ONU in an OLT of a PON. The method comprises determining an original infected zone based on a first time slot allocation in which each time slot corresponds to one uplink signal of an ONU; determining a new infected zone based on a second time slot allocation in which each time slot corresponds to an uplink signal of an ONU; determining if there is a same ONU in the original infected zone and in the new infected zone to determine rogue ONU candidate, and determining a rogue ONU based on the rogue ONU candidate. The solution disclosed in the present application has the advantages of quick determination of the rogue ONU, no interruption of the normal service and system compatibility etc.

Method and apparatus for determining a rogue ONU in a PON

A remote node device for mutual communication between optical network units in a passive optical network includes an N&#xd7;N-arrayed waveguide grating configured to receive upstream optical signal of one of the optical network units and to output this signal as a first optical signal; a 1&#xd7;2 wavelength division multiplexer configured to separate per band the first optical signal to obtain a second optical signal; and a 1&#xd7;(N&#x2212;1) power distributor configured to transmit the second optical signal to the corresponding optical network unit through the N&#xd7;N-arrayed waveguide grating.

Remote node device, optical network unit and system and communication method thereof

The optical transmitter includes a FP-LD, generating multiple-longitudinal mode light wave. The FP-LD is also driven by an electrical signal, modulates the electrical signal to the multiple-longitudinal mode light wave, and outputts the modulated multiple-longitudinal mode light wave. An optical coupler, coupled with the FP-LD, is used for feeding the modulated multiple-longitudinal mode light wave from the FP-LD to a fiber Bragg grating. The fiber Bragg grating is for filtering the received multiple-longitudinal mode light wave according to a parameter, and feeding back the optical signal generated after being filtered to the optical coupler. The optical coupler divides the optical signal, thus making the optical signal oscillate between the FP-LD and the fiber Bragg grating to form a oscillation cavity, and outputs a single mode optical wave with constant wavelength and power.
