Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an apparatus of a user equipment (UE) may transmit, over an unlicensed carrier, an initial transmission of a transport block (TB) satisfying a condition and an indication that a retransmission of the TB will be communicated over a licensed carrier. The apparatus may retransmit the TB over the licensed carrier based at least in part on a failure of the transmission of the TB over the unlicensed carrier. Numerous other aspects are described.

Unlicensed-licensed cross-carrier retransmission

The apparatus may be a first wireless device configured to receive a first indication that a second wireless device associated with the first wireless device and a network device is classified as providing data of a first type. Mitigating the effects of rogue actors in vehicle-to-vehicle perceptive wireless communications

UEs' mobility may have a significant impact on sidelink communications and Uu mobility procedures of UEs participating in SL communication or SL Group Communication. Methods devised to optimize handover procedures, cell reselection procedures, and transition to RRC_IDLE and RRC_INACTIVE for UEs with ongoing SL communications. Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may configure a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle of the first UE for a sidelink connection with a second UE. The UE may identify a mode that specifies whether the first UE is to receive a communication outside of an on duration of the DRX cycle if the on duration is extended due to receiving sidelink control information (SCI) reserving a resource outside of the on duration. The UE may communicate in accordance with the mode. Numerous other aspects are described.

Power consumption optimization under discontinuous reception

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Wireless devices may be configured to support techniques for bi-directional discontinuous reception (DRX) alignment and centralized DRX alignment. In the context of bi-directional DRX alignment, DRX configurations at two respective user equipments (UEs) are first established in a first direction, and then DRX configurations are then established in the reverse direction based on the previously-established DRX configurations. In particular, DRX configurations in the reverse direction may be selected such that the Uu and sidelink DRX configurations are aligned at the respective UEs and across the UEs. Comparatively, in the context of centralized DRX alignment, a master base station receives 'candidate' Uu and sidelink DRX configurations for multiple UEs, and selects Uu and sidelink DRX configurations for each UE from the sets of candidate DRX configurations in order to ensure DRX alignment across the respective UEs.

Discontinuous reception alignment for wireless communications

Aspects described herein relate to sidelink transmissions. In an example, a first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a first sidelink grant for a transmission between the first UE and a second UE; communicate the transmission according to the first sidelink grant to the second UE; determine initiation of a sidelink round trip timer subsequent to communicating the transmission to the second UE; and initiate an inactive mode for the first UE based on a second grant not being received from the network entity before completion of a duration of a sidelink retransmission timer that was initiated upon completion of a duration of the sidelink round trip timer, the first UE being configured out of an ON duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, and an inactivity timer expiring before completion of the duration of the sidelink retransmission timer.

Receiving sidelink UEs may map sidelink feedback interlaces corresponding to detected sidelink data transmissions to sidelink feedback resources of a common sidelink feedback symbol according to an interlace mapping rule (e.g., defining which contiguous or non-contiguous frequency resources the UE is to use for transmitting sidelink feedback for the received sidelink data messages). Blind coverage for wireless devices is enhanced varying one or more transmission characteristics of a repeated transmission sent or received by apparatuses, where the repeated transmission includes, for example a Physical Downlink Shared CHannel (PDSCH) and/or a Physical Uplink Shared CHannel (PUSCH) transmissions. Varied characteristics may include a start time for each repetition, a duration for each repetition, a start frequency for each repetition, a bandwidth of each repetition, a number of repetitions for each subframe, and/or a number of repetitions for each slot. Repetitions may be within a Bandwidth Part (BWP) or span multiple BWPs. Repetitions may vary from one to another in start time, start frequency, duration, bandwidth, and slot and subframe patterns. Higher level signalling, such as Radio Resource Control (RRC) signalling may be used to control the inclusion or omission of a DeModulation Reference Signal (DMRS) in repeated transmissions.

Coverage enhancement for reduced capability new radio devices

Methods, devices, and systems related to serving gateway extensions for inter-system mobility in integrated small Cell and WiFi networks. An SGW may be extended into a common intermediate gateway for both LTE and WiFi access. A GTP-based 'SI a' interface between a TWAN and an SGW is introduced. The STa interface between TWAN andGPP AAA server/proxy is extended to enable selection of an SGW for establishment of the disclosed Sla interface. The extended SGW and protocols may be used to optimize inter-system mobility between LTE small cells and trusted WiFi. SGW and PDN Gateway (PGW) functionality is disclosed to support GTP-based IP Flow mobility via multi-access (LTE and WiFi) connectivity to the same packet data network (PDN). Non-access stratum (NAS), EAP, and GTP-C protocols may also be extended to include a “multi-connection” indication in addition to existing “handover” indication.

Serving gateway extensions for inter-system mobility

Switching between Orthogonal Multiple Access (OMA) and Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) modes of a user equipment (UE) can be determined and indicated by a gNB to a UE at an RRC connected state using one or more of the following schemes: at an RRC (Radio Resource Control) layer with an RRC configuration message, at a MAC (Medium Access Control) layer with MAC CE (MAC control element) signaling, at a PHY (Physical) layer with DCI (Downlink Control Information) signaling, jointly with RRC configuration and DCI signaling, and/or jointly with RRC configuration and MAC CE signaling. The OMA or NOMA mode that the UE operates after the transition may be requested by the UE, indicated by the gNB, and/or may be based on one or more rules for OMA-NOMA switching.

View-dependent multiple streaming for extended reality (XR) rendering offloading

Sub-band (SB) indications and listen-before-talk (LBT) outcomes may be used to adjust communications between devices such as wireless terminals and base stations. For example, a wireless terminal may receive SB indications including SB configurations and/or LBT outcomes of a base station, and other information such as a remapped CORESET. Similarly, a terminal may determine that a physical resource block (PRB) is invalid based at least in part on whether the PRB overlaps with a guard band.
