SL DRX mechanism is used for power savings, to address a number of sidelink non-vehicular sidelink use cases. Methods, systems, and apparatuses, among other things, as described herein may use 1) A sidelink state model to describe the UE behavior for sidelink DRX operation. The DRX operation tailored to each of the sidelink states; 2) Power savings opportunities during SL operation, in addition to stopping PSCCH monitoring; 3) Various DRX models applicable to the sidelink; 4) SL_DRX operation for the SL UnLinked state; or 5) SL DRX operation for the SL_Linked state.

NR sidelink discontinuous reception

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A network entity may partition one or more user equipments (UEs) within a target area into groups and assign one UE per set to be a lead UE to aggregate shared sensor data without large sidelink overhead from multicasting all sensor data or uplink signaling overhead from aggregating data at the network entity. For example, the network entity may transmit, and a UE may receive, a partition request message corresponding to a hierarchical partitioning scheme. The UE may transmit a partition request feedback message in response to the partition request message, which may include an indication of the availability of the UE to act as the lead UE. The UE may receive a partition assignment message from the network entity, which may include a partition between sets of UEs and an indication of the lead UE for the set of UEs.

Hierarchical partitioning and sensor data aggregation in perceptive wireless communications systems

An apparatus including a non-transitory memory including instructions stored thereon for monitoring synchronous signals and physical broadcast channels (SSBs) from a network node. The apparatus also includes a processor, operably coupled to the non-transitory memory, configured to execute a set of instructions. The instructions include configuring the apparatus for a STTC (SSB Transmission Timing Configuration). The STTC is a time interval with plural locations accommodating transmission of the SSBs. The instructions also include monitoring the STTC for the SSBs. The instructions further include determining a first one of the SSBs in a first slot of a subframe in a scheduled SSB transmission in the STTC has been transmitted at a first scheduled location, where the transmission of the first one of the SSBs is based upon confirmation of a successful Listen Before Talk (LBT) available channel prior to the scheduled SSB transmission in the STTC.

Mechanism for SSB transmission in NR-U

An effective approach for a user equipment (UE) to perform a sidelink communication with another UE in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode is disclosed. For example, a UE may determine a direct frame number (DFN) timing, and configure a sidelink DRX mode using one or more sidelink DRX parameters based on the DFN timing. The UE may perform a sidelink communication with a second UE during an on-duration of a sidelink DRX cycle in the sidelink DRX mode according to the one or more sidelink DRX parameters.

Discontinuous reception in sidelink communication based on a direct frame number

Methods and systems are disclosed for resource management on Sidelink for vehicle to everything (V2X) scenarios. Example methods and systems for a Resource Structure on Sidelink are disclosed. Control and data channels may be Frequency Division Multiplexed (FDMed) or Time Division Multiplexed (TDMed) with an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) waveform. Example methods and systems for a Resource Configuration on Sidelink are disclosed. The resource configuration may be statically configured or may be locally configured. Example methods and systems for Assisted Resource Allocation are disclosed. Assisted Sensing may be performed by a group lead or RSU and local scheduling may be performed by a group lead or RSU.

Resource management for 5G eV2X

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network node, a first indication, associated with a sidelink communication, of at least one of whether sidelink carrier aggregation is supported or a first one or more component carriers associated with the sidelink communication. The UE may receive, from the network node based on transmitting the indication, a second indication that a transmission associated with the sidelink communication is to be duplicated for multiple component carriers. The UE may transmit, based on the second indication, the sidelink communication via each of a plurality of component carriers that include at least one component carrier from the first one or more component carriers. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Sidelink carrier aggregation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some cases, a first user equipment (UE) may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure to identify a channel occupancy time (COT). The COT may include some slots for transmitting a sidelink message and some sidelink synchronization signal block (S-SSB) slots for transmitting S-SSBs. In some examples, to fill a gap created by the S-SSB slots within the COT and thus maintain the COT across the S-SSB slots, the first UE or the second UE may transmit some signaling to provide transmissions in the S-SSB slots. For example, the first UE may transmit a padding signal, the second UE may transmit S-SSBs, or the UEs may use a gap control procedure. Upon filling the gap, the first UE may transmit a sidelink message to the second UE in slots of the COT excluding the S-SSB slots.

Maintaining channel occupancy time across sidelink synchronization signal block slots in unlicensed sidelink

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may start a sidelink bandwidth part (BWP) timer with a duration that is based at least in part on a timing of a sidelink discontinuous reception active state of the first UE. The first UE may switch to a first sidelink BWP for the duration of the sidelink BWP timer. Numerous other aspects are described.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an apparatus of a user equipment (UE) may transmit, over an unlicensed carrier, an initial transmission of a transport block (TB) satisfying a condition and an indication that a retransmission of the TB will be communicated over a licensed carrier. The apparatus may retransmit the TB over the licensed carrier based at least in part on a failure of the transmission of the TB over the unlicensed carrier. Numerous other aspects are described.

Unlicensed-licensed cross-carrier retransmission

The apparatus may be a first wireless device configured to receive a first indication that a second wireless device associated with the first wireless device and a network device is classified as providing data of a first type. The apparatus may further be configured to receive a first set of data elements from the second wireless device. The apparatus may be configured to identify, based on the first set of data elements and a second set of data elements available at the first wireless device, that the classification of the second wireless device may be inaccurate and transmit, based on the identification that the classification of the second wireless device may be inaccurate, at least one of a second indication for the second wireless device to transmit a re-evaluation request or a third indication to the second wireless device to terminate a communication session with the first wireless device.

Mitigating the effects of rogue actors in vehicle-to-vehicle perceptive wireless communications

UEs' mobility may have a significant impact on sidelink communications and Uu mobility procedures of UEs participating in SL communication or SL Group Communication. Methods devised to optimize handover procedures, cell reselection procedures, and transition to RRC_IDLE and RRC_INACTIVE for UEs with ongoing SL communications. Methods are disclosed herein for PLMN selection for UEs requiring sidelink communication or with active sidelink communication, as well as, methods to provide priority-based resource allocation while using exceptional transmit resource pools. Also, provided are SL group management procedures to deal with impacts of UE mobility.

NR V2X mobility

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may configure a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle of the first UE for a sidelink connection with a second UE. The UE may identify a mode that specifies whether the first UE is to receive a communication outside of an on duration of the DRX cycle if the on duration is extended due to receiving sidelink control information (SCI) reserving a resource outside of the on duration. The UE may communicate in accordance with the mode. Numerous other aspects are described.

Power consumption optimization under discontinuous reception

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Wireless devices may be configured to support techniques for bi-directional discontinuous reception (DRX) alignment and centralized DRX alignment. In the context of bi-directional DRX alignment, DRX configurations at two respective user equipments (UEs) are first established in a first direction, and then DRX configurations are then established in the reverse direction based on the previously-established DRX configurations. In particular, DRX configurations in the reverse direction may be selected such that the Uu and sidelink DRX configurations are aligned at the respective UEs and across the UEs. Comparatively, in the context of centralized DRX alignment, a master base station receives 'candidate' Uu and sidelink DRX configurations for multiple UEs, and selects Uu and sidelink DRX configurations for each UE from the sets of candidate DRX configurations in order to ensure DRX alignment across the respective UEs.

Discontinuous reception alignment for wireless communications

Aspects described herein relate to sidelink transmissions. In an example, a first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network entity, a first sidelink grant for a transmission between the first UE and a second UE; communicate the transmission according to the first sidelink grant to the second UE; determine initiation of a sidelink round trip timer subsequent to communicating the transmission to the second UE; and initiate an inactive mode for the first UE based on a second grant not being received from the network entity before completion of a duration of a sidelink retransmission timer that was initiated upon completion of a duration of the sidelink round trip timer, the first UE being configured out of an ON duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, and an inactivity timer expiring before completion of the duration of the sidelink retransmission timer.

Scheduling operation with mode-1 scheduling in sidelink and sidelink unlicensed operations
