This disclosure describes methods, systems, and devices for handover of a user equipment (UE) from a source node of a radio access network (RAN) to a target node of the RAN. In one example, a method involves receiving, by the UE and from the source node, a RACH-498 handover message comprising: (i) an uplink grant for establishing a connection with the target node, and (ii) an identifier of a reference signal associated with a beam of the target node. The method also involves performing, by the UE, a handover based on the RACH-less handover message.

Enhanced RACH-less handover

Techniques discussed herein can facilitate enhanced radio resource management measurements for wireless technology including New Radio (NR). One example aspect is a baseband processor of a user equipment (UE), including one or more processors configured to receive a measurement link information state link information. The one or more processors are further configured to determine, from the measurement link information, a number of synchronization signal block based measurement timing configurations (SMTCs) (Y) per Rx beam of a number of receive (Rx) beams (N); generate at least one of a subset number of Rx beams (N) of the number of Rx beams based on the measurement link information, or an increased number of SMTCs (Y) of the number of SMTCs corresponding to the number of Rx beams; and perform radio resource management (RRM) measurements according to one or more of the subset number of Rx beams or the increased number of SMTCs.

Enhanced radio resource management measurements

Systems, devices, and techniques for wireless communications based on one or more transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states are described. A described technique performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a first downlink channel based on a current TCI state; receiving a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) in a first slot, the PDSCH carrying a radio resource control (RRC) activation command in the first slot, the RRC activation command indicating a switch to a target TCI state; waiting until an end of a switching period triggered by the RRC activation command to use the target TCI state, the switching period being based on a RRC processing delay; and receiving, based on the end of the switching period, a second downlink channel based on the target TCI state in a second slot.

Mechanism and signaling on coreset and PUCCH resource grouping for multi-TRP operation

In a general aspect, a user equipment (UE) in a cellular communications network receives a first Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) corresponding to a first cell of the cellular communications network, and a second SSB corresponding to a second cell of the cellular communications network. The UE clarifies a first cell identifier (ID) of the first cell. The UE clarifies a second cell ID of the second cell. The UE determines an SSB measurement accuracy value using the first cell ID and the second cell ID.

Synchronization signal block (SSB) measurement accuracy testing

A user equipment (UE) device is configured for performing a signal measurement for wireless communication in a new radio (NR) network. The UE is configured to determine a frequency range (FR) of a serving cell configured to send a signal that is measured by the UE using a signal measurement. The UE configures a measurement gap (MG) pattern to perform the signal measurement. Configuring the measurement gap includes determining that the frequency range of the serving cell includes frequencies of a second frequency range (FR2), determining that a measurement object (MO) configuration for the FR2 is available, setting a measurement gap repetition periodicity (MGRP) value for the signal measurement, and setting a measurement gap length (MGL) value for the signal measurement. The UE performs a signal measurement using the MGRP value and the MGL value.

One or more methods of operating an access node. At least one of the methods includes: detecting a capability indication that indicates a capability of a user equipment (UE) to simultaneously receive and transmit (Rx/Tx) on a first component carrier (CC1) and a second component carrier (CC2); and scheduling, based at least on the capability, a first UE activity to occur over the CC1 and a second UE activity to occur over the CC2 to avoid a collision in a time-domain by prioritizing one of the first UE activity or the second UE activity relative to the other one of the first UE activity or the second UE activity.

An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) that includes radio front end circuitry and processor circuitry. The front end circuitry receives an indication from a network entity node, wherein the indication is indicative of a first fraction for a first radio resource management (RRM) procedure and a second fraction for a second RRM procedure. The processor circuitry performs a first measurement of the first RRM procedure in a first fraction of a measurement period. The processor circuitry further performs a second measurement of the second RRM procedure in a second evaluation period, wherein the second evaluation period is the second fraction of the measurement period.

This disclosure describes methods, systems, and devices for measuring a reference signal received power (RSRP) in a user equipment (UE) that operates in machine type communication (MTC). In one example, a method involves receiving, from a radio access network (RAN) serving the UE, a resynchronization signal (RSS). The method also involves calculating a reference signal received power (RSRP) of the RSS.

A described technique includes determining, by a first wireless device, whether to perform a CLI measurement; determining a quantity of activated transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states associated with a second wireless device; performing the CLI measurement based on the quantity of activated TCI states; and transmitting a CLI report in response to the CLI measurement.

Cross-link interference (CLI) radio resource management (RRM) measurement

An electronic device may receive, from a radio node, a measurement configuration associated with a wireless communication system. In response, the electronic device may perform measurements using narrow beam patterns based at least in part on a network configuration, where the narrow beam patterns are narrower than a wide beam pattern of the electronic device. Furthermore, performing the measurements using the narrow beams pattern may include performing a beam-pattern search up to the network configuration. Then, the electronic device may perform an SCell activation procedure of an SCell with the radio node. Note that the SCell activation procedure may include reporting, to the radio node, CSI of a narrow beam pattern of the SCell that is to be activated, where the narrow beam pattern is narrower than the wide beam pattern of the electronic device, and the narrow beam pattern is based at least in part on the measurements.
