Electrically conductive aerogel films, electrodes composed of the electrically conductive aerogel films, and supercapacitors incorporating the electrodes are provided. The aerogel films include reduced graphene oxide particles in combination with metal oxynitride fibers. By including cellulosic nanofibrils in the aerogels, the films can be made mechanically flexible and free-standing.

Reduced graphene oxide-metal oxynitride aerogel electrodes

Power generators that incorporate porous electric generation layers composed of mechanoradical-forming polymers are provided. Also provided are methods for using the generators to convert mechanical energy into and electrical signal to power electronic devices. The porous electric generation material includes an organic polymer that forms free radicals when covalent bonds are homolytically ruptured upon the application of a compressive force to the porous structure.

Flexible compact nanogenerators based on mechanoradical-forming porous polymer films

Highly porous, lightweight, and sustainable organosilane-coated organic aerogels with ultra-low densities and excellent material properties and methods for preparing them are provided. The aerogels are modified to have a superhydrophobic and superoleophilic surface, thus leading to an extremely high affinity for oils and/or organic solvents.

Sustainable aerogels and uses thereof

Highly porous, lightweight, and sustainable hybrid organic aerogels with ultra-low densities and excellent material properties and methods for preparing them are provided, including, e.g., PVA/CNF/GONS, RF/CNF/GONS, and PVA/CNF/MWCNT. The aerogels are modified to have a super-hydrophobic surface, thus leading to an extremely low swelling ratio and rate of moisture absorption.
