The mounting base may be configured to receive the accessory in the interior of the housing, spaced apart from the fixture. The mounting base may also be configured to be engaged with and disengaged from the bracket, and removed from the housing through the aperture.

Apparatus and methods for lighting. The apparatus may include a removable recess lighting assembly. The lighting assembly may include a light-emitting diode ('LED') light source. The LED light source may include an LED. The lighting assembly may define a central axis. The apparatus may include a heat sink. The heat sink may be configured to be mounted in a structure. The heat sink may be configured to retain the lighting assembly. The heat sink may be configured to release the lighting assembly in response to a translation of the lighting assembly along the central axis. The translation may be a translation without a rotation of the light assembly about the central axis. In operation, the lighting assembly may be serviced without causing damage to the structure in which the apparatus is mounted. The lighting assembly may be removed through a defined aperture in the apparatus.

Apparatus for a mounting adapter may include a first releasable catch and a second releasable catch. The first releasable catch may prevent movement along a first direction and the second releasable catch may prevent movement along a second direction that is opposite the first direction. The mounting adapter may include a payload support configured to support a payload. The first releasable catch and the second releasable catch may be configured to releasably fix the payload support relative to a mounting hole after the mounting adapter is inserted along the second direction into the mounting hole. The first releasable catch and the second releasable catch may be configured to releasably fix the payload support relative to the mounting hole after the mounting adapter is inserted along the first direction into the mounting hole.

Methods, apparatus and systems for emergency lighting. The apparatus may include a microprocessor. The microprocessor may power a plurality of fixtures. The plurality of fixtures may be supported in a fixture support. The microprocessor may be electrically connected with a remote emergency battery via a control line. In response to a loss of power at the microprocessor, an emergency lighting protocol may be activated. The emergency lighting protocol may retrieve a pointer to a designated fixture in the plurality of fixtures. The emergency lighting protocol may provide power to the designated fixture using power received from the emergency battery.

Apparatus and methods for lighting are provided. The apparatus may include a lighting assembly. The lighting assembly may include a radius. The lighting assembly may include a light-emitting diode ('LED') light source. The LED light source may include an LED. The apparatus may include a heat sink. The heat sink may be configured to retain the lighting assembly. The lighting assembly may be configured to emit light from an aperture. The aperture may be included in a structure. The aperture may include a radius. The lighting assembly may be configured to tilt relative to the structure. The lighting assembly may be tilted by insertion of an item through the aperture. The difference between the lighting assembly radius and the aperture radius may be between 0.075 inches and 0.25 inches.

Small aperture light emitting diode ('LED') lighting

A lighting fixture includes a housing having a surface with a fixture aperture therein, a light source assembly mountable within the housing in a replaceable manner and sized to fit through the aperture, the light source assembly includes electrical contacts configured to be in electrical communication with a light source. The lighting fixture also includes an electric input conditioner mounted within the housing in a replaceable manner and sized to fit through the aperture, the electric input conditioner is in electrical communication with the electrical contacts. The lighting fixture also includes a mount assembly in mechanical communication with the housing and configured to position the light source assembly within the housing at a location for light from the light source to emit through the aperture, wherein the light source assembly and the electric input conditioner accommodate a first light source technology, and are replaceable to accommodate a different technology.
