In accordance with an embodiment, a phase noise estimation method includes: obtaining, by a receive end, first information indicating a first parameter corresponding to interference information of a first phase tracking reference signal (PTRS), wherein the first parameter comprises one or more of a first phase set or a first amplitude set; obtaining, by the receive end, a first signal, wherein the first signal is determined based on the first parameter and the interference information of the first PTRS, wherein an amplitude of the first signal meets a first threshold; and determining, by the receive end based on the first information and the first signal, an estimated value of a phase noise corresponding to the first PTRS.

Phase noise estimation method, apparatus, and system

Aspects of the present application provide methods and devices for a phase tracking reference (PT-RS) scheme for use by a single carrier Offset QAM (SC-OQAM) transmitter and receiver to estimate, and correct, phase errors that occur over the communication link between the SC-OQAM transmitter and receiver. A transmitter may set the sign (positive or negative) of PT-RS symbols dynamically allowing the transmitter to better utilize IQ interference caused by data symbols and other PT-RS symbols. Another aspect of the present disclosure provides a receiver that can estimate phase error due to phase noise without knowing the sign of PT-RS symbol or the sign of IQ interference. This type of phase error estimation improves the phase noise estimation performance, and thus may improve the overall block error rate (BLER) performance at the receiver.

Methods and apparatus for using a phase tracking reference signal with a single carrier waveform

A symbol processing method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: obtaining, based on a plurality of complex-valued symbols, a first set corresponding to a first transmit symbol and a second set corresponding to a second transmit symbol; performing a copy operation on the first set and the second set, so that both the first set and the second set have a first complex-valued symbol; performing signal processing on the first set and the second set; and performing phase adjustment on the first transmit symbol and/or the second transmit symbol after the signal processing, to ensure that a symbol component whose end position is the first reference point in the first transmit symbol is the same as a symbol component whose end position is the second reference point in the second transmit symbol. This application can ensure that an inter-symbol guard period is flexibly configured.

Symbol processing method and apparatus

Embodiments of this application provide a signal transmission method and a communication apparatus in a multi-waveform scenario, and are applied to a scenario in which a single-carrier waveform and a multi-carrier waveform coexist. In this method, a network device indicates, via first indication information, a terminal device to transmit a signal by using transmission parameters corresponding to the first indication information, so that the terminal device transmits the signal by using the specified transmission parameters. Transmission parameters includes at least two of a transmission bandwidth, an extended bandwidth, or a total bandwidth. According to the embodiments of this application, a transmit end may perform sending by using the single-carrier waveform, and a receive end may perform receiving by using the multi-carrier waveform; or a transmit end may perform sending by using the multi-carrier waveform, and a receive end may perform receiving by using the single-carrier waveform.

Signal transmission method and communication apparatus

One example method includes generating a first symbol in a symbol sequence, where the first symbol and a second symbol have a same first symbol component, a start location of the first symbol component in the first symbol is a start location of the first symbol, a start location of the first symbol component in the second symbol is a location at which a cyclic prefix is truncated in the second symbol, the second symbol is a next symbol adjacent to the first symbol, and the first symbol and the second symbol each has a cyclic prefix. The first symbol can then be sent.
