An example method for managing datasets produced by alert-triggering search queries may include producing a dataset by executing a search query on a portion of data associated with a time window defined relative to a current time. The method may further include responsive to determining that a portion of the dataset satisfies a condition defining an alert, generating an instance of the alert. The method may further include associating, by a memory data structure, the instance of the alert with an identifier of the query and a parameter specifying a time of execution of the query that has triggered the instance. The method may further include receiving a request for the dataset portion. The method may further include substituting, in a definition of the time window, the current time with the time parameter. The method may further include reproducing the dataset portion by re-executing the query using the time window.

Managing datasets generated by search queries

As used herein, a circular timeline generally refers to a graphical display of timestamped events stored by a data intake and query system, wherein the timestamped events may be displayed as arcs of one or more concentric circles and located in a circular timeline area according to a chronological ordering associated with the events. One or more display attributes of each arc may further depend on other data associated with the corresponding events. For example, each arc of a circular time may be displayed at a particular radial distance, with a particular thickness, using a particular shading and/or color, etc., depending on various data values associated with the one or more events represented by the arc.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method and apparatus for providing computing resources to a user. In one embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a method for providing computing resources to a user, comprising: in response to a request from the user, looking up in a profile repository a profile corresponding to the user's domain information; requesting at least one computing resource associated with the profile; integrating the at least one computing resource into a virtual datacenter; and providing the virtual datacenter to the user; wherein the at least one computing resource is physically deployed in a distributed manner.
