A microscopy imaging system comprises a fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) system comprising a pulsed light source configured to direct a plurality of excitation light pulses onto a sample, a photo detector configured to detect emitted fluorescent photons created by the plurality of excitation pulses interacting with the sample, and a FLIM data acquisition system configured to measure the time interval between the excitation light pulses and the detected emitted fluorescent photons, a scanning light microscopy (SLM) system comprising a SLM data acquisition system, a fast scanning mirror and a slow scanning mirror, wherein the mirrors are configured to scan the light pulses across the sample; and a data processing system communicatively connected to the FLIM and SLM systems. Microscopy imaging methods are also disclosed.

Microscopy imaging system and methods

A scanning LASER ophthalmoscope (SLO) system for real-time montaging includes an adaptive optics scanning light ophthalmoscope (AOSLO) and a wide field scanning light ophthalmoscope (WFSLO). At least one stabilization mirror is controlled by a computer to optically stabilize the AOSLO based at least in part on feedback from the WFSLO. The SLO system also includes a steering means. The SLO system continues to acquire and combine a plurality of AOSLO image frames forming a combined AOSLO image at each of a plurality of narrow field of view (FOV) sites until a predetermined number of images or a predetermined image quality metric (IQM) at each of the combined AOSLO images is achieved. A plurality of the combined AOSLO images is combined to form a SLO montaged image of a wide FOV. A method to montage a plurality of scanning LASER ophthalmoscope (SLO) narrow field of view (FOV) images is also described.

System and method for real-time montaging from live moving retina

Methods and apparatus for imaging multiple retinal structures and montaging of multiple retinal images are provided. The method involves cross-correlating images from different imaging channels to compensate for intra-frame distortion due to retinal movement during image acquisition, and conducting a second cross-correlation to filter out any motion artifacts in the images. The resultant images are combined to generate a composite image. The method also involves controlling light directed on the retina spatially and temporally.

In a second case in which the quality metric is not less than the threshold, obtaining a new second image.

Enhanced algorithm for the detection of eye motion from fundus images

A system for multi-scale closed-loop eye tracking to compensate for translation and rotation motion while imaging in vivo a surface area of an internal structure of an eye of a subject includes a narrow field imaging device optically coupled to an optical path to receive light reflected from the surface area of the structure of the eye. A wide field camera is optically coupled to the optical path by a beam splitter disposed in the optical path. A tracking mirror is disposed in the optical path between the beam splitter and the structure of the eye. A control process algorithm actively compensates substantially in real time for both translational and rotational movements of the eye. A system where a torsional correction device causes a rotating movement of a subject's head and a method for multi-scale closed-loop eye tracking are also described.

System, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium encoded with instructions for imaging an object. Dividing raw data into forward scan data and backward scan data. Reversing the order of the backward scan data to produce inverted backward scan data. Determining an offset value that is associated with a maximum value of a first function based on the forward scan data and the inverted backward scan data. The forward scan data is shifted by the offset value relative to the inverted backward scan data. Producing a first image of the object that comprises the forward scan data interlaced with the inverted backward scan data. Image based correction of distortion from a scanner

A method for image registration includes the steps of: providing a computer and an imager; acquiring and processing a reference image frame including a plurality of reference strips; acquiring and correcting a target frame by the steps of: acquiring one or more target frame strips of the target frame; comparing the one or more target frame strips in real-time to one or more corresponding strips of the reference frame based on a calculated registration of a specific target frame strip from a previous target frame; correcting a registration of the one or more target frame strips; repeating steps until a last strip of the target frame; repeating the steps of acquiring and correcting a target frame until a last target frame is acquired; and saving processed image based on a plurality of corrected target frames to a non-volatile memory. A system to perform the method is also described.

System and method for real-time image registration

Systems, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium for imaging an object. The system includes a scanner. The scanner positions a spot of light from a light source on the object along a scanning path. The scanning path includes a plurality of scan lines. The spot moves along the scanning path at a scanning velocity. The scanning velocity is not constant. The intensity of the spot of light is modulated as a function of the scanning velocity. The system includes a detector that is arranged to output data associated with positions along the scanning path. The system includes one or more processors that perform calculations. Pixels are calculated based on the output data. The image is constructed of the object based on the pixels.

Light source modulation for a scanning microscope

A real-time ophthalmoscope system for imaging an eye includes a wide field scanning light ophthalmoscope (SLO) configured for wide field imaging of the eye. The system also includes a small field SLO configured for high resolution imaging of the eye. A 2D tracking minor electrically coupled to a computer, and a 2D steering minor electrically coupled to the computer, are both disposed in an optical path between the small field SLO and the eye. The system is configured to acquire a plurality of small field images at a plurality of locations on the eye as defined by the 2D steering minor, each of the small field images is stabilized for a motion of the eye by the 2D tracking minor. A method for imaging of the eye is also described.
