Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may obtain, at an access stratum (AS) layer, an indication of an inter-satellite link (ISL) activation that is to take place at an activation time. The wireless communication device may receive communications. The wireless communication device may buffer the communications in a buffer at the AS layer. The wireless communication device may release the communications from the buffer to an upper protocol layer at a rate of release that is to change between a transition start time and the activation time. Numerous other aspects are described.

A configuration to allow for scheduling communication with a UE having associated characteristics based on a timing indication. The apparatus receives, from a UE, a timing indication associated with a bandwidth, a subcarrier spacing, or a waveform. The timing indication identifying a delay duration based on a processing timeline for the UE. The apparatus receives from the UE, or transmits to the UE, a first data channel having the bandwidth, the subcarrier spacing, or the waveform scheduled based on the timing indication. A user equipment (UE) may identify a time period during which the UE is configured to receive grants scheduling communications for the UE, wherein the grants are associated with a first grant format type. The UE may determine that the grants include a feedback process identifier exceeding a threshold value. The UE may maintain a power saving state of a discontinuous reception procedure for a feedback process associated with the feedback process identifier during the time period based at least in part on the feedback process identifier exceeding the threshold value.

An example method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes establishing an access link with a terrestrial network. The example method also includes establishing a message layer of the access link for communicating with a payload deployed on-board an aerial device. The example method also includes communicating a communication with the aerial device using the message layer, the communication including a message to be provided to the terrestrial network or received from the terrestrial network.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for user equipment (UE) positioning using one or more intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs). A method that may be performed by a UE includes for each IRS of the one or more IRSs: identifying a first IRS reflection center, measuring a first impulse response from the IRS to obtain a first measured impulse response representation, determining a first impulse response for a first ray reflected from the first IRS reflection center of the IRS, estimating a first position of the UE based on, at least, the first IRS reflection centers for each of the one or more IRSs and the first impulse responses for each of the one or more IRSs, and estimating a second position of the UE in an iterative manner until one or more conditions are satisfied.

Techniques for intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) position determination in IRS aided positioning

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a downlink transmission and one or more repetitions of the downlink transmission. The DCI may indicate a first uplink resource for a first feedback message indicating whether the UE receives the downlink transmission and the one or more repetitions. Based on receiving the DCI, the UE may select a second uplink resource for a second feedback message indicating feedback that the UE received the DCI, where the second uplink resource occurs prior to the first uplink resource in a time domain. The UE may transmit the second feedback message on the second uplink resource. The UE and the network node may be part of a non-terrestrial network and, in some examples, may apply a configuration indicated in the DCI based on the second feedback message.

Method to transmit feedback in non-terrestrial networks

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) are described. A UE may operate by asynchronously transmitting code division multiple access (CDMA) uplink signals to a network entity. The UE may transmit the CDMA signals via an uplink channel that may be shared with orthogonal frequency multiplexing (OFDM) signaling transmitted by one or more other UEs. The UE may indicate to the network entity a capability for communicating with CDMA waveforms and may use CDMA waveforms based on transmitting the indication. The UE may also receive one or more parameters associated with using the CDMA waveforms, and may use CDMA waveforms based on the one or more parameters. The uplink channel may be a random access channel (RACH) and may support RACH transmissions, or may be a data channel and support data transmissions.

Concurrent code division and frequency division signaling via an uplink channel

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication via a non-terrestrial network (NTN). In one aspect, a method for wireless communication includes initiating, by a user equipment (UE), a registration process with a network entity of an NTN to access the NTN. The method also includes transmitting, by the UE to the network entity, UE capability information of the UE. The method further includes receiving, by the UE from the network entity, a handover command, the handover command comprising a handover time indicator associated with a target handover time for the UE to perform a handover operation from a first beam to a second beam. Handover mechanism for non-terrestrial network (NTN) system in 5G new radio (NR)

Techniques are described for supporting user equipment (UE) positioning in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). To allow calculating a position/location of a UE based on reference signal (RS) measurements to and from one satellite (or a terrestrial base station), a device may be configured to calculate a doppler measurement and a range measurement and report such measurements to be used by a location server to calculate a UE position. An example device may receive a first RS (with the first RS being one of a positioning reference signal (PRS) or a sounding reference signal (SRS)), receive a second RS associated with the first RS, calculate a doppler measurement based on one or both of the first RS or the second RS, and report the doppler measurement. The doppler measurement (such as a measured frequency offset) may be used by a location server to calculate a UE position on the earth surface.

User equipment positioning based on a non-terrestrial communication network

A UE determines a group identifier based at least in part on a timing advance (TA) associated with the UE, the group identifier associated with at least the UE and a second UE and receives a sidelink resource allocation associated with the group identifier. Systems and techniques are provided for wireless communications performed at a network entity. For example, the systems and techniques can include obtaining, at the network entity, a target relative time difference (RTD). A transmission timing pre-compensation can be determined at the network entity between a first reference signal and a second reference signal, wherein the transmission timing pre-compensation is determined based on the target RTD and one or more network delay components. The first reference signal and the second reference signal can be transmitted using the transmission timing pre-compensation to offset the first reference signal from the second reference signal by the target RTD.

An apparatus, e.g., a UE, for transmission of information modulated onto RSs using index modulation is disclosed. The UE may receive, from a base station, a configuration of one or more RS resources of an RS resource set. The one or more RS resources may be associated with an index modulation technique including a plurality of UL or DL information bits. The UE may transmit, to the base station, or receive, from the base station, the plurality of UL or DL information bits. The plurality of UL or DL information bits may include at least one of one or more first bits or one or more second bits.
