The method includes: A first terminal performs integrity protection verification on a received RRC message; and when the integrity protection verification fails, an RRC layer of the first terminal sends a first indication and an identifier of a second terminal to an application layer of the first terminal, where the first indication and the identifier of the second terminal are used by the application layer to disconnect a unicast connection between the first terminal and the second terminal.
