The manufacturing method includes: providing a substrate; forming a circuit layer on a side of the substrate; providing at least one switching element and at least one light emitting element; and electrically connecting the switching element and the light emitting element to the circuit layer. The circuit layer includes a first power signal line, a second power signal line, and a pulse width modulation signal line; the switching element includes a control terminal, a first terminal and a second terminal; the light emitting element is electrically connected between the first terminal and the first power signal line, or the light emitting element is electrically connected between the second terminal and the second power signal line.

The drive electrode layer is disposed on a side of the first substrate and/or the second substrate facing the dye liquid crystal layer. The drive electrode layer includes a plurality of drive electrodes arranged sequentially along a first direction, and an interval of a preset length is set between two adjacent ones of the plurality of drive electrodes. The driver circuit is electrically connected to the plurality of drive electrodes, respectively and configured to provide sequentially increasing drive voltages to the plurality of drive electrodes arranged sequentially along the first direction.

The driver circuit includes a terminal connection module, a drive module, and a short-circuit protection module. The terminal connection module, the drive module, and the short-circuit protection module are connected in series between a first power supply terminal and a second power supply terminal, and the short-circuit protection module is connected in series between the terminal connection module and the second power supply terminal. The terminal connection module is connected to an original light-emitting unit so that the original light-emitting unit is connected in series between the first power supply terminal and the second power supply terminal. The short-circuit protection module is configured to be disconnected in a case where the original light-emitting unit is short-circuited.

The driving method includes: obtaining, by the driving chip, a theoretical brightness value of the light-emitting diode in each of the plurality of light-exiting sub-areas based on an image to be displayed on the display panel; obtaining an actual brightness look-up table, searching the actual brightness look-up table for an actual brightness value closest to the theoretical brightness value, and setting the actual brightness value closest to the theoretical brightness value as a first brightness value; and generating a first pulse signal based on the first brightness value and outputting the first pulse signal to the switch in each of the plurality of light-exiting sub-areas, in such a manner that the switch controls, under driving of the first pulse signal, the light-emitting diode to emit light under an action of a first power supply signal and a second power supply signal.

The method includes providing the light-emitting panel including a substrate, a plurality of light-emitting units, a control circuit, and a plurality of signal lines. The control circuit includes a data signal input terminal, a data storage unit, and a plurality of first signal terminals. The data storage unit is configured to store a first voltage signal and a first pulse width modulation signal corresponding to a different grayscale value. Each signal line connects a light-emitting unit with a first signal terminal. The method also includes obtaining a to-be-displayed screen, and determining each grayscale value of a corresponding light-emitting unit of the plurality of light-emitting units. Further, the method includes according to different grayscale values, calling the first pulse width modulation signal and the first voltage signal corresponding to each grayscale value in the data storage unit.

A backlight drive method, a backlight drive device, a backlight source system, and a display device are provided in the present disclosure. The backlight drive method is used to drive a light-emitting region of a backlight source of the display device. Driving the light-emitting region of the backlight source includes acquiring actual ambient brightness of an ambient where the display device is located. Driving the light-emitting region of the backlight source further includes determining a target backlight brightness range of light exited from the light-emitting region with reference to the actual ambient brightness, where the target backlight brightness range is within an intrinsic brightness range of the light-emitting region. Driving the light-emitting region of the backlight source further includes matching the target backlight brightness range to a plurality of gray levels preset in the light-emitting region.
