The nanocarbon material may be present in a higher concentration proximate the support body and a lower concentration proximate an outer surface of the composite coating. The lower concentration may be less than or equal to about 2 wt % of the nanocarbon material.

Exemplary embodiments provide nanotube-containing coating compositions and methods for making and using the coating compositions. In an exemplary embodiment, the coating composition can include a plurality of nanotubes (e.g., carbon nanotubes (CNTs)) dispersed stably and uniformly in a polymer matrix containing fluoropolymers. The coating composition can further include stabilizers to allow a stable and/or uniform dispersion of the plurality of nanotubes in the fluoropolymers. The nanotube coating composition can be coated on an article surface to improve mechanical robustness, and electrical and thermal conductivity of the coated article. The coated article can be used as, for example, a fuser member, a fixing member, a pressure roller, or a release agent donor member in an electrostatographic printing machine or process.

A sacrificial coating composition for an image transfer member in an aqueous ink imaging system. The sacrificial coating composition comprises a latex comprising polymer particles dispersed in a continuous liquid phase; at least one hygroscopic material; at least one surfactant; and water.

A method for forming a dispersion includes mixing graphene particles, a fluorosilane coupling agent and a first solvent to produce a first dispersion wherein the graphene particles are from about 0.1 to about 0.8 weight percent of the first dispersion. The method includes concentrating the first dispersion by removing the first solvent to produce a second dispersion wherein the graphene particles are from about 2.0 to about 10.0 weight percent of the concentrated dispersion. The concentrated dispersion is mixed with a fluoropolymer dispersion including a second solvent, a surfactant, and fluoropolymer particles wherein the fluoropolymer dispersion has a solids content of about 30 weight percent to about 50 weight percent to form a second dispersion. A polymer binder in a third solvent is mixed with the second dispersion to form the coating dispersion.

Method of manufacture for graphene fluoropolymer dispersion

A reinforced fluoropolymer composite is presented, which includes a fluoropolymer and a fluoro-functionalized nanocrystalline cellulose in which the outer circumference of the nanocrystalline cellulose has been functionalized with fluorinated substrates. The fluoro-functionalized nanocrystalline cellulose may be used to produce stable dispersions with fluoropolymers exhibiting enhanced adhesion between the nanocrystalline particles and fluoropolymer in a composite material, and decreased surface free energy of the cellulose surface.

Exemplary embodiments provide coating compositions having pseudo-fluorine surface and methods for processing and using the coating compositions. The coating composition can be coated on a member surface, wherein the coated member can be, for example, a fuser member, a fixing member, a pressure roller, or a release agent donor member, used in an electrostatographic printing device or process.
