An electrical connector includes an insulative base and an insulative cover moveable relative to the base along the front-to-back direction. A lever includes an actuating bar sandwiched between the base and the cover and is rotated to move the cover relative to the base. A metallic reinforcement piece is embedded within the base adjacent to the actuating bar. The metallic reinforcement piece includes a main part in compliance with a receiving groove of the base receiving the actuating bar therein, and a pair of wings at two opposite transverse side edge of the receiving groove.

An electrical connector includes an insulative base, an insulative cover attached upon the base and moveable along a front-to-back direction, and an operation lever sandwiched between the base and the cover for moving the cover relative to the base in the front-to-back direction. The lever includes an actuating bar sandwiched between the upper head and the lower head, and an operation bar exposed outside of the base and the cover. The operation bar is rotatable between a horizontal position and a vertical position. The lower head includes a stopper around a front end of the operation bar with a locking section engaged with the operation bar wherein said locking section extends toward the operation bar either inwardly along the transverse direction or in the front-to-back direction.

An electrical connector includes a pair of housing units side by side arranged with each other and equipped with the corresponding contacts, respectively. Zero insertion force connector fearuring robust interengagement between a base and a cover

A ZIF socket connector comprises a base defining a plurality of passageway therein and each received therein a contact terminal therein. The base defines a first and second end. A cover is moveably attached to the base in a direction from the first end to the second end of the base, and defines a plurality of guiding holes each aligned with the passageway. An actuating lever with a cam portion is disposed in the first end of the housing, and is interengaged with the cover so as to move the cover on the base along the direction. The cover includes a top surface. A pick up cap is disposed on the top surface of the cover, and includes a first end disposed on the top surface of the cover, and a second end interlocked to a sidewall of the base at the second end. The first end of the pickup cap is released when the cover is moved away from the second end of the base.
