A communication device comprises one or more sensors configured to generate sensor data, a wireless interface, and a processor. The wireless interface is configured to establish a connection with a remote device according to a short-range wireless communication protocol and to transmit one or more signals to the remote device, the one or more signals representing information configured according to a media format. The processor is configured to determine at least one activity mode based on the sensor data from the one or more sensors on at least one of the communication device or the remote device, and during the transmission of the one or more signals, control the wireless interface to increase a transmit power level to a maximum transmit power level based on the determined activity mode.

This document describes techniques and systems for indoor localization using Bluetooth high-accuracy distance measurement (HADM). In examples, the described systems and techniques perform a signal-strength scan to identify multiple anchor points and then pair, based on the signal-strength scan, the tagged device with a first anchor point of the identified anchor points. A HADM time slot is set for the first anchor point and at least two additional anchor points of the identified anchor points. A HADM event is initiated, the HADM event including sending a HADM ping and receiving HADM responses from two or more of the identified anchor points. Based on at least a time of receipt of HADM responses received from the two or more of the identified anchor points, the location of the tagged device is calculated.

Indoor localization using Bluetooth high-accuracy distance measurement

Various arrangements are presented for increasing a link margin of a wireless audio link. A short-range wireless communication link having a first physical layer (PHY) symbol rate is established between an audio source device and an audio output device. An audio stream is transmitted using the communication link, which includes a connected isochronous stream (CIS) link. A number of packet retransmissions are detected on the CIS. Based on the detected number of packet retransmissions on the CIS, the first PHY symbol rate of the CIS can be altered to a second PHY symbol rate for transmitting the audio stream.
