The present disclosure is directed to examples of a light emitting diode (LED) device. In one embodiment, the LED device includes a printed circuit board (PCB), at least one LED chip electrically coupled to the PCB, a LED package to encapsulate the at least one LED chip, and at least one volatile organic compound (VOC) barrier layer coating the LED package.

The present disclosure is directed to examples of a lens. In one embodiment, the lens includes an input surface and an output surface. The input surface includes a first input surface segment, a second input surface segment, and a third input surface segment. The second input surface segment is positioned to redirect light emitted at a range of angles by a light emitting diode (LED) to prevent being blocked by an adjacent LED assembly. The output surface includes a first output surface segment and a second output surface segment. The second output surface segment and the second input surface segment form a convex lens and the second output surface segment is positioned to receive and redirect the light emitted at the range of angles by the LED that are redirected by the second input surface segment to a second range of angles that avoids the adjacent LED assembly.

The present disclosure is directed to examples of an apparatus. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a light entry segment that receives light emitted from a light emitting diode (LED), a total internal reflection (TIR) segment to reflect the light emitted from the light emitting diode towards an optical axis of the LED, and a light redirection segment to redirect the light emitted from the light emitting diode and the light reflected by the TIR segment at an angle greater than 45 degrees relative to the optical axis of the LED and greater than 90 degrees along a horizontal axis.

The present disclosure is directed to examples of an apparatus. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a total internal reflection (TIR) lens and a structure coupled to the TIR lens. The structure includes a plurality of support members located around the TIR lens, a top surface, wherein the TIR lens is coupled to the top surface, and an edge to couple the top surface to the plurality of support members, wherein the edge is to redirect light in a direction that is perpendicular to a horizontal plane of the top surface.
