Automated apparatus for preparing pizza, and method of operating same. A customer selects a type of pizza, such as toppings or crust style. The apparatus slices and defrosts dough, applies cheese, slices and applies toppings, and cooks the pizza to order. The cooked pizza is packaged for delivery to the customer and may include a separate cutting apparatus. Proper temperature of hot and cold sections is maintained while ingredients are stored and as the pizza is cooked. The process is monitored and controlled by one or more processors.

Automated pizza preparation and vending system

An adjustable ring according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a ring portion having an outer surface and an inner surface defining an opening for receiving a finger therethrough; a movable segment coupled to the ring portion and movable between a first position and a second position; and a spring element coupled to the ring portion and the movable segment to allow movement of the movable segment between the first position and the second position. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the adjustable ring further includes an insert portion coupled to an inner surface of the ring portion, the insert portion having an opening; and the movable segment coupled to the insert portion and having a surface movable through the insert portion opening.

Adjustable sized jewelry

A size adjustable item of jewelry has a plurality of movable inserts placed within a channel or a groove formed into the inner circumferential surface of body frame of generally a ring shape. The movable inserts are biased towards the radial center of the body frame by an elastic member, and thus can move in a radial direction with respect to the body frame such that inner surfaces facing the radial center of the movable inserts together define another generally ring shape of varying radius, and thereby allows the size of the ring shaped jewelry to be adjusted within a range of sizes.

Adjustable size ring

An apparatus and method for making pizza includes a housing and a plurality of canisters containing fresh dough stored in the housing. A cutting blade is disposed in the housing and is movable between an upper limit position and a lower limit position to cut a slice of dough from one of the plurality of canisters. A press plate is disposed in the housing and receives the slice of dough. The press plate includes a first plate and a second plate that selectively move into engagement with each other to define an internal chamber therebetween to press flat and preheat the slice of dough. A rotary index table station is disposed in the housing and includes a plurality of plates, with each of the plates being rotatable about a central axis of the rotary index table station. Preheated pizza crust is deposited on the plates. Each of the plates is then movable between an innermost radial position and an outermost radial position. Each of the plates also has a central axis such that each of the plates are rotatable about its respective central axis when moving between the innermost radial position and the outermost radial position. Toppings are applied during this movement so they are placed on the pizza crust in a spiral pattern.

Apparatus for making pizza

A food cutting utensil, (e.g., a rotary pizza cutter) includes a disc and a handle that are selectively connectable together. The disc has a first side, a second side and a central through bore that is substantially aligned with an axis of the disc. A rim projects from the first side of the disc about the through bore. The handle has a first portion for being gripped by a hand while being used as a cutting utensil, and a second portion for rotatably supporting the disc. The second portion has a first arm and a second arm. The first arm has an axially projecting hub that is received in the through bore when the handle is connected to the disc.

Food cutting utensil

A jewelry safety clasp includes a female member and a male member. The female clasp member includes a hollow housing, and a locking member slidably connected to the housing. The locking member has a push button disposed at one end thereof that projects through an opening in the housing. The locking member slides between a first locked position and a second unlocked position. A spring biases the locking member into the locked position. The male clasp member includes a shaft having a first reduced diameter portion adjacent to its free end and a second reduced diameter portion spaced from the first reduced diameter portion. In the locked position, the shaft is received within the housing with the locking member disposed about the second reduced diameter portion, thereby preventing said shaft from moving axially with respect to the housing.
