Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communications system may perform measurements of a network while in an idle or an inactive state. The UE may receive, from a base station, an idle mode measurement configuration and a logged measurement configuration for performing measurements while the UE is in the idle state or the inactive state. The UE may determine, from the idle mode measurement configuration, that the measurements are to also be used for minimization of drive test (MDT) reporting. The UE may generate an MDT report based on the idle mode measurement configuration and the logged measurement configuration. The UE may transmit, to the base station, the MDT report based on the idle mode measurement configuration.

Early measurements for logged minimization of drive test

Aspects described herein relate to improving layer 1 (L1)/layer 2 (L2) mobility in certain scenarios. In some aspects, an indication of mobility from a first cell in a candidate cell set configured for L1/L2 mobility to a second cell can be received, and one or more parameters related to mobility failure or mobility history or radio link failure (RLF) associated with the mobility to assist the network node in at least one of performing a subsequent L1/L2 mobility for the UE or avoiding RLF or mobility failure during the subsequent L1/L2 mobility can be transmitted. In other aspects, the indication of mobility can be transmitted and the one or more parameters can be received. In some aspects, a list of conditional primary secondary cell (PSCell) change (CPC) configurations can be communicated following a PCell switch.

Techniques for performing layer 1/layer 2 mobility based on multiple secondary cell group configurations

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method includes a user equipment (UE) receiving signaling from a network entity that indicates a set of multiple node configurations for a set of multiple target nodes, receiving a command from the network entity to perform a node update procedure associated with the set of multiple node configurations, performing the node update procedure based on receiving the command, maintaining at least one of the set of multiple node configurations after performing the node update procedure, and communicating based on results of the node update procedure.

Maintaining configurations in conditional primary secondary cell group change

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described, in which temporary reference signals may be configured for use in secondary cell (SCell) activation. A user equipment (UE) may perform wireless communications with a first serving cell supported by a base station, and may receive an indication that a SCell is to be activated. As a result of activation of the SCell, the UE may perform one or more measurements on a reference signal of the SCell that is being activated. The one or more measurements may be performed on a temporary reference signal of the SCell that has one or more parameters that are indicated to the UE with the SCell activation information. The one or more parameter may be indicated by downlink control information (DCI), one or more medium access control (MAC) control elements, implicit signaling, or any combinations thereof.

Reference signal configuration for secondary cell activation

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a measurement configuration including trigger conditions for performance of handover procedures within a service-based wireless system. The UE may transmit a message indicating a satisfaction of a trigger condition to a source network entity, a mobility service offered by a service-based network, or both. After performance of a handover decision by the source network entity, the mobility service, or both, the mobility service may select a target network entity for the handover procedure. The mobility service may select a target network entity that supports at least one active core network service at the UE. The UE may then receive a handover command from the mobility service, and may perform a handover procedure to the target network entity.

Techniques for connected state mobility in a service-based wireless system

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for early measurement associated with configuring with multiple secondary nodes (SNs). In one aspect, the configuration of multiple SNs may be improved by allowing a master node (MN) to determine a multi-SN configuration based at least in part on measurements of actual channel conditions as seen by the UE. Enabling the MN to receive the measurement information early during a process associated with establishing a connection between the UE and the MN may thereby improve efficiency and reduce latency associated with the configuration of multiple SNs.

Radio (NR) early measurement with multiple secondary nodes (multi-SNs)

A method of wireless communication for a user equipment (UE) includes entering a dormancy period for a secondary cell group (SCG) of a base station (BS) during which no downlink (DL) data or control transmissions are received from the SCG; performing a channel state information (CSI) measurement on the SCG during the dormancy period to generate a measurement report; determining an uplink (UL) beam of a primary secondary cell (PSCELL) of the SCG; transmitting the measurement report to the BS on the UL beam of the SCG; and determining, during the dormancy period and after transmitting the measurement report, one or more downlink (DL) beams for communicating on the SCG based on one or more rules and based on the measurement report, wherein the one or more rules result in the BS determining the same one or more DL beams based on the measurement report.

Beam updates during a secondary cell group (SCG) dormancy period

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may perform radio link monitoring (RLM) reference signal measurements on a primary secondary cell (PSCell) while the UE is operating in a secondary cell group (SCG) deactivated state. The UE may perform beam failure detection (BFD) reference signal measurements while the UE is operating in the SCG deactivated state. The UE may transmit, to a master node associated with a master cell group (MCG), an SCG failure information message based at least in part on one of: a PSCell radio link failure (RLF) detection based at least in part on the RLM reference signal measurements, or a BFD based at least in part on the BFD reference signal measurements. User equipment communications while operating in a secondary cell group deactivated state

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive, via a first serving cell, a message including an indication to activate a second serving cell different from the first serving cell. The UE may receive, via the first serving cell, a control message indicating a first resource for transmitting a response message responsive to the message, and triggering a reference signal associated with time and frequency tracking for the second serving cell. The UE may transmit, via the first serving cell and within the first resource indicated via the control message, the response message acknowledging the message. The UE may then monitor a second resource of the second serving cell for the reference signal based on the control message.

Techniques for direct secondary cell activation using temporary reference signals

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, information identifying a set of conditional configurations for a set of possible target cells associated with a first communication procedure, wherein the set of conditional configurations are associated with a master cell group or a secondary cell group. The UE may communicate with the network node or another network node in accordance with a conditional configuration, of the set of conditional configurations, associated with a second communication procedure. Configuration management for multiple configuration communication scenarios

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a primary cell or a primary secondary cell (PSCell), configuration information for a conditional PSCell addition or change (CPAC), the configuration information indicating configurations for one or more candidate PSCells. Signaling aspects of a conditional primary secondary cell change procedure in multi-radio access technology dual connectivity

The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support multi-secondary cell group configurations. Generally, the described techniques provide for a configuration that enables a user equipment (UE) to perform multiple conditional primary and secondary cell (PSCell) addition or change procedures. For instance, the UE may perform a series of conditional PSCell changes and/or conditional PSCell additions based on a single configuration provided by a network entity. In such cases, the single configuration may be based on a subset of secondary nodes (secondary nodes) that are identified by one or more target secondary nodes. In some aspects, the single configuration may include an indication that the configuration may be used for multiple PSCell changes or additions, and the UE may store the configuration based on the indication.

Techniques for configuring multiple secondary cell groups

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a user equipment (UE) may support dual connectivity. That is, the UE may establish communications with a master node and a secondary node of a wireless communications network. The master node may correspond to a master cell group (MCG) and the secondary node may correspond to a secondary cell group (SCG). In some examples, as described herein, the UE operating in dual connectivity may collect data for optimization of the wireless communications network or upon detecting a failure associated with the master cell group or the SCG and transmit the collected data to a network entity (e.g., one of the master node or the secondary node), where the collected data is based on the SCG being in a deactivated state. In some examples, upon receiving the collected data, the network entity may attempt to recover from the failure.
