A bicycle freewheel basically includes a driving member, a driven member, at least one first engaging member, at least one second engaging member and at least one contact member. The driving member is to be coupled to a bicycle sprocket. The driven member is to be coupled to a bicycle hub. The driving member and the driven member have oppositely arranged first and second portions, respectively. The at least one first engaging member is disposed on one of the first and second portions, while the at least one second engaging member is disposed on the other of the first and second portions. The at least one second engaging member engages the at least one first engaging member while non-freewheeling. The at least one contact member is disposed on one of the first and second engaging members, and contacts the other of the first and second engaging members while freewheeling.

A bicycle axle assembly has a nut, a main body member and an adjustment structure. The nut includes a bore having an internal thread. The main body member includes a nut bore. The nut is disposed in the nut bore. The adjustment structure adjustably couples the nut to move axially with respect to the main body member.

A bicycle chain comprises a first outer link plate. The first outer link plate comprises a first end portion, a second end portion, and a first intermediate portion. The first end portion, the second end portion and the first intermediate portion defines a first outer peripheral edge. The first outer peripheral edge comprises a first end edge, a second end edge, a pair of first intermediate edges, and a first recessed edge. The first end edge extends about the first end portion. The second end edge extends about the second end portion. The pair of first intermediate edges extends along the first intermediate portion between the first end edge and the second end edge. The first recessed edge is provided between the first end edge and one of the first intermediate edges.

Bicycle chain

A bicycle axle assembly has a nut member that includes a first part and a second part. The first part has an internal thread. The second part has a projection that is arranged to engage a dropout of a bicycle frame. The first and second parts have first and second anti-rotational structures, respectively, that move relative to each other between an engaged position, in which the first and second parts are non-rotatably engaged relative to each other by the first and second anti-rotational structures, and a disengaged position, in which the first and second mating anti-rotational structures are disengaged such that the first and second parts rotate relative to each other.

A freewheel is provided for mounting a plurality of sprockets on an axle of a bicycle. The freewheel basically includes an inner tubular body, an outer tubular body coaxially mounted on the inner tubular body with a bearing assembly rotatably coupling the inner tubular body to the outer tubular body. A one-way clutch is coupled between the inner tubular body and the outer tubular body to allow one-way rotation between the inner and outer tubular bodies. In the preferred embodiment, seven sprockets are mounted on the exterior of the outer tubular body. The bearing assembly has a pair of ball bearing races of the same diameter located at one end. An outer ball housing and a side plate are utilized in conjunction with the inner tubular body to fixedly secure the first and second ball bearings on the exterior surface of the inner tubular body. The inner tubular body with the bearings is then fixedly coupled to the outer tubular body so that the outer tubular body can rotate relative to the inner tubular body. The one-way clutch includes a pair of pawls attached to the inner tubular body and a set of ratchet teeth formed on the inner tubular body. The ratchet teeth are rotated between splines that are formed on the exterior surface of the outer body so as to maximize strength and minimize material. The outer tubular body has a step-shaped configuration with a plurality of abutment stoppers formed on the splines of the largest section such that some of the sprockets are installed from one direction and the other sprockets are installed in a second direction.

Freewheel for a bicycle

A cable saver mechanism is provided in a cable of a cable operated component, such as a rear derailleur, to protect the cable operated component or a part of the bicycle when the bicycle falls over and the cable operated component, e.g., the rear derailleur, hits the ground. The cable saver mechanism has a first housing portion, a second housing portion and a biasing member disposed between the first and second housing portions to urge them apart from each other. The first housing portion has a first tubular section with a first end wall and first open end spaced from the first end wall. The first end wall includes a first cable bore with an internal section becoming wider towards the first open end. The second housing portion has a second tubular section with a second end wall and second open end spaced from the second end wall. The second end wall includes a second cable bore. The first and second open ends of the first and second housing portions are movably coupled together. The biasing member is disposed between the first and second end walls to urge the first and second housing portions apart from each other.

Cable saver mechanism

A freewheel is provided for mounting a plurality of sprockets on an axle of a bicycle. The freewheel basically includes an inner tubular body, an outer tubular body coaxially mounted on the inner tubular body with a bearing assembly rotatably coupling the inner tubular body to the outer tubular body. A one-way clutch is coupled between the inner tubular body and the outer tubular body to allow one-way rotation between the inner and outer tubular bodies.
