A method which i) segregates UEs to different categories of 'conforming' and “nonconforming”, and ii) performs rank indicator (RI) filtering and/or switching based on the specific category is provided. Rank indicator (RI) filtering is performed in a SINR-specific manner, e.g., when SINR is low, the rank filtering is performed in such a way to always give an output of 1 or 2, not more. In addition, the Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) assigned for a PDSCH is adjusted when the rank switching is performed, thereby achieving graceful rank switching. Furthermore, Outer Loop Rate Control (OLRC) optimization is provided in response to rank switching.

Rank filtering and graceful rank switching in base station

A method performed by a network node for deciding whether or not to trigger short Semi Persistent Scheduling (SPS) reactivation of a short SPS activated User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network is provided. The network node receives Uplink, UL, data from the UE over a radio resource. The radio resource comprises any one out of: an SPS resource and a dynamically granted resource. The network node determines a difference of signal quality of the radio resource used for the received UL data compared to a previous signal quality calculated when last of any one out of: deactivation and reactivation of short SPS was triggered. The network node then decides whether or not to trigger short SPS reactivation of the UE based on the determined difference of the signal quality.

Network node and method in a wireless communications network

A method implemented by a network device in a communication network is provided. The network device is operable to communicate with a User Equipment UE and a Narrow Band Internet Of Things NB-IoT terminal device in the communication network. Said method may comprise configuring NB-IoT Physical Resource Blocks PRBs. Said method may further comprise when scheduling said UE, if said configured NB-IoT PRBs have not been allocated to said NB-IoT terminal device and if available PRBs other than said configured NB-IOT PRBs are not enough for said UE, attempting to allocate said configured NB-IoT PRBs for said UE. A network device performing said method is also provided. Further, a communication network comprising said network device is also provided.

Method and a device for sharing resource

According to certain embodiments, a method by a network node for selecting a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) interval for a wireless device in a cell served by the network node includes determining criterion for selecting the SPS interval for the wireless device. The criterion is associated with at least one of a QoS requirement of the wireless device and a utilization of resources by the network node. The network node assigns the SPS interval to the wireless device based on the criterion.

Selecting a semi-persistent scheduling interval for grant-free wireless devices

The present disclosure relates to a network node and a method performed by the network node for radio resource allocation. The method includes allocating a number of subframes to a first terminal device for uplink transmission, in which the first terminal device repeatedly transmits its data to the network node for N times, wherein N is an integer greater than 1. Then the network node decodes the data received from the first terminal device after the data has been received for M times, wherein M is an integer smaller than N; and records, after the received data from the first terminal device is successfully decoded, rest of subframes being allocated to the first terminal device as recycling uplink resource. The recycling uplink resource can be reused by other communication links although been allocated to the first terminal device, thus radio resource can be utilized more efficiently.
