Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with single pass parallel encryption are disclosed herein. In embodiments, an apparatus for computing may comprise an encryption engine to encrypt a video stream. The encryption engine may comprise a plurality of encryption pipelines to respectively encrypt a plurality of video sub-streams partitioned from the video stream in parallel in a single pass as the video sub-streams are being generated. The plurality of encryption pipelines may use a corresponding plurality of multi-part encryption counters to encrypt the corresponding video sub-streams as the video sub-streams are being generated. Each of the multi-part encryption counters used by one of the encryption pipelines may comprise a sub-portion that remains constant while encoding the corresponding video sub-stream, but the sub-key is unique for the one encryption pipeline, and differs from corresponding sub-portions of the multi-part encryption counters used by the other encryption pipelines. Other embodiments may be disclosed or claimed.

Single pass parallel encryption method and apparatus

A method dynamically reconfigures a system on a chip (SOC) comprising multiple semiconductor intellectual property (IP) blocks. The method comprises, when booting a data processing system (DPS) comprising the SOC, automatically allocating different IP blocks to multiple different microsystems within the DPS, based on a static partitioning policy (SPP). The method also comprises, after booting the DPS, determining that reallocation of at least one of the IP blocks is desired, based on (a) monitored conditions of at least one of the microsystems and (b) a dynamic partitioning policy (DPP). The method also comprises, in response to determining that reallocation of at least one of the IP blocks is desired, automatically reallocating at least one of the IP blocks from one of the microsystems to another of the microsystems without resetting at least one of the microsystems. Dynamic microsystem reconfiguration with collaborative verification

An embodiment of the invention includes a processing system to provide protected digital content, the processing system comprising a processor and control logic which, when used by the processor, results in the processing system performing operations comprising determining first and second receivers, which are coupled to the processing system, are within a predetermined acceptable proximity to the processing system. The processing system is upstream to the first receiver and the first receiver is upstream to the second receiver. Other embodiments are provided herein.

Methods and apparatus for protecting digital content

In one embodiment of the invention, a format for renewability content (e.g., a System Renewability Message (SRM)) corresponding to a content protection protocol (e.g., High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP)) may be interoperable with devices that are compliant with different versions of the standard (e.g., HDCP1.x and 2.x devices) and that include different amounts of storage for the renewability content (e.g., first and second generation devices).

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for renewability with digital content protection systems

A processing system to serve as a source device for protected digital content comprises a processor and control logic. When used by the processor, the control logic causes the processing system to receive a digital certificate from a presentation device. The processing system then uses public key infrastructure (PKI) to determine whether the presentation device has been authorized by a certificate authority (CA) to receive protected content. The processing system may also generate a session key and use the session key to encrypt data. The processing system may transmit the encrypted data to the presentation device only if the presentation device has been authorized by the CA to receive protected content. Presentation devices and repeaters may perform corresponding operations, thereby allowing content to be transmitted and presented in a protected manner. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

An apparatus, system, or method for (i) processing a System Renewability Message (SRM) that includes first and second generation SRM portions that respectively comprise first and second lists of unique privilege-revoked identifiers for receiver devices; (ii) storing the first and second SRM portions based on whether a source device is a first generation HDCP device, (iii) processing an additional SRM that includes additional first and second generation SRM portions that respectively comprise additional first and second lists of unique privilege-revoked identifiers for receiver devices and a third generation SRM portion that comprises another list of unique privilege-revoked identifiers; and (iv) storing the additional first and second SRM portions and the third SRM portion based on whether the source device is a third generation HDCP device.

Apparatus, systems, and methods for checking if a receiver is on a revocation list based on SRMs of DVDs

A processing system to serve as a source device for protected digital content comprises a processor and control logic. When used by the processor, the control logic causes the processing system to generate cipher data, based at least in part on (a) a session key and (b) at least one constant value obtained from a certificate authority. The processing system may use the cipher data to encrypt data, and the processing system may transmit the encrypted data to a receiving device via a wireless connection. A processing system to serve as a source device for protected digital content comprises a processor and control logic. The processing system may generate and save a first master key, and may transmit that key to a first receiving device for use during a first session. During a second session, the processing system may obtain an identifier for a candidate receiving device. The processing system may use the identifier to determine whether the processing system contains a master key for the candidate receiving device. If the processing system such a master key, the processing system may send verification data concerning that key to the candidate receiving device, and may use that key to encrypt a session key for the second session. If not, a second master key may be generated and transmitted to the candidate receiving device for use during the second session. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
