The present invention relates to a multilayer film comprising: • an inner layer system comprising a first surface and a second surface; • a first skin layer bound to the inner layer system at the first surface of the inner layer system; and • a second skin layer bound to the inner layer system at the second surface of the inner layer system; wherein • the inner layer system comprises a first ethylene-based polymer; and • at least one of the first or the second skin layer(s) is a sealing layer and comprises a second ethylene-based polymer having a peak melting temperature Tof at least 10° C. below the Tof the first ethylene-based polymer, Tbeing determined as peak melting temperature in accordance with ASTM D3418 (2008); wherein the multilayer film is a bi-directionally oriented film wherein the orientation is introduced in the solid state. Such film allows for the production of a sealed package having a sufficiently high sealing strength at reduced sealing temperatures, also referred to as the seal initiation temperature.

Bi-directionally oriented multilayer film

The present invention related to a film comprising multiple co-extruded film layers, the film having a length and a width, and a thickness defined as the dimension of the film perpendicular to the plane defined by the length and the width, wherein the film is a bi-axially oriented film comprising at least a core layer A, having a first and a second surface, and one or two sealing layer(s) B, wherein the core layer A comprises a polypropylene, and wherein the sealing layer B comprises >50.0 wt % of a polyethylene comprising moieties derived from ethylene and moieties derived from an α-olefin comprising 4 to 10 carbon atoms, the polyethylene having a density of ≥870 and ≤920 kg/mas determined in accordance with ASTM D1505 (2010), with regard to the total weight of the sealing layer B, wherein the sealing layer B directly adheres to one of the first or second surface of the core layer A. Such film allows for the production of a sealed package having a sufficiently high sealing strength at reduced sealing temperatures, also referred to as the seal initiation temperature.

Biaxially oriented polypropylene film for heat sealing

The present invention relates to a film comprising at least one sealing layer wherein at least one layer A of the sealing layer(s) comprises a polyethylene comprising moieties derived from ethylene and moieties derived from an α-olefin comprising 4 to 10 carbon atoms, the polyethylene having a density of ≥870 and ≤920 kg/m3 as determined in accordance with ASTM D792 (2013), wherein the polyethylene has: x a fraction of material that is eluted in analytical temperature rising elution fractionation (a-TREF) at a temperature ≤30.0° C. of ≥5.0 wt %, preferably ≥10.0 wt %, with regard to the total weight of the polyethylene; x a shear storage modulus G' determined at a shear loss modulus G″=5000 Pa of >700 Pa, G′ and G″ being determined in accordance with ISO 6721-10 (2015) at 190° C.; x a melt mass-flow rate, determined at 190° C. under a load of 2.16 kg in accordance with ASTM D1238 (2013) of ≥2.60 and ≤4.90 g/10 min; and x a chemical composition distribution broadness (CCDB) of ≥15.0, preferably ≥20.0. Such film allows for sealing of the film at a reduced temperature, whilst still providing a desirable seal strength, and a desirable hot-tack strength.

Use of a free radical initiator composition for the production of polyethylene materials having a reduced gel content

The invention is directed to bimodal polyethylene having a flow ratio FRR ranging between &#x2265;30 and &#x2264;40, a density ranging between &#x2265;949.0 and &#x2264;952.0 kg/m3, an MFRranging between &#x2265;0.1 and &#x2264;0.2 g/10 min and comprising from 50 to 54% by weight of an ethylene homopolymer A and from 46-50% by weight of an ethylene-butene copolymer B, where all percentages are based on the total weight of the composition and wherein ethylene homopolymer A has a viscosity number &#x2265;70 and &#x2264;100 cm3/g and a density between &#x2265;968 and &#x2264;972 kg/m3. The polyethylene is suitable to be applied in the production of pipes.

Bimodal high density polyethylene

The invention is directed to a multimodal polyethylene having a flow ratio FRR ranging between &#x2265;25 and &#x2264;35, a density ranging between &#x2265;948.0 kg/mand &#x2264;953.0 kg/m, an MFRranging between &#x2265;0.1 and &#x2264;0.4 g/10 min and comprising from 50-54% by weight of an ethylene homopolymer A and from 46-50% by weight of an ethylene-hexene copolymer B, where ah percentages are based on the total weight of the composition and wherein ethylene homopolymer A has a viscosity number &#x2265;110 cm/g and &#x2264;130 cm/g and a density between &#x2265;960.0 kg/mand &#x2264;969.0 kg/m. The polyethylene is suitable to be applied in the production of pipes.

Multimodal high density polyethylene

The invention relates to a process for the production of bimodal polyethylene in a two-step polymerization process in the presence of a catalyst system comprising: (I) the solid reaction product obtained by reacting of: a) a hydrocarbon solution containing 1) an organic oxygen containing magnesium compound or a halogen containing magnesium compound and 2) an organic oxygen containing titanium compound and b) an aluminum halogenide having the formula AIRXin which R is a hydrocarbon radical containing 1-10 carbon atoms, X is halogen and 0&#x3c;n&#x3c;3 (II) an aluminum compound having the formula AIRin which R is a hydrocarbon radical containing 1-10 carbon atom and (III) an electron donor selected from the group of 1,2-dialkoxyalkanes and 1,2-dialkoxyalkenes wherein in the first step a low molecular weight polyethylene is produced which has a MFIis between 1 and 200 dg/min, and in the second step a high molecular weight ethylene copolymer is produced in which the MFIof the total product is between 0.1 and 5 dg/min, and the weight fraction of the material produced in the first step is between 40 wt % and 60 wt % of the total product.
