Hybrid encryption of imported key material is provided. A request to import key material is received from a user system. In response to the request, two public keys are sent to the user system. The two public keys include a classical cryptography (CC) public key and a quantum-safe cryptography (QSC) public key. At least one public key of the two public keys is retrieved from a hardware security module (HSM). Hybrid-encrypted key material is received from the user system. The hybrid-encrypted key material is key material that has been encrypted using the two public keys. The key material, at least partially encrypted by the at least one public key, is sent to the HSM.

Key import with hybrid cryptography

A data processing system and computer instructions in a data processing system for identifying device configurations. Unique identification information is identified for a set of devices in the data processing system. The identified unique identification information is compared with previously identified unique identification information. Configuration data is moved to a memory for devices in the set of devices in which a match exists between the identified unique identification information and the previously identified unique identification information for devices. Configuration information is obtained from a device in which configuration information is absent in the memory after configuration data has been moved to the memory for the devices to form a current set of configuration data for the set of devices.

Performing device configuration rediscovery

A set of data structures defines resource relationships and locations for a set of resources to form defined resource relationships and defined locations for the set of resources. A receiver obtains, from an unsecure device, replaceable unit data and characterization data for a current resource in the set of resources. A writer merges obtained replaceable unit data for a current resource with obtained characterization data for the current resource for each resource of the set of resources to form a set of data files.

Obtaining and storing replaceable resource information for a unique resource

Creating a device tree is provided. It is determined whether more than one version of a resource for a data processing system exists in a resource location code array table. In response to determining that more than one version of the resource for the data processing system does exist in the resource location code array table, it is determined which version of the resource was installed in the data processing system. A presence detection procedure is performed for the resource in the data processing system. It is determined whether the resource is present in the data processing system. In response to determining that the resource is present in the data processing system, an entry is created in a device tree for the resource based on the determined version of the resource. The device tree is cached in firmware.

Conditional inclusion of resources in a computer system configuration

A method, apparatus and computer instructions in a data processing system for identifying device configurations. Configuration data is moved to a memory for devices in the set of devices in which a match exists between the identified unique identification information and the previously identified unique identification information for devices. Selectively recollecting vital product data during an initial program load at data processing system power on is provided. In response to receiving an input to power on a data processing system, a resource location code array table is accessed within a set of selected tables for the data processing system based on machine type. The selected set of tables is located in firmware within a service processor. An entry for a resource in the resource location code array table is read to determine whether the entry includes a no recollect tag. Then, in response to determining that the entry for the resource in the resource location code array table does include a no recollect tag, vital product data for the resource is not recollected during the initial program load.

Vital product data collection during pre-standby and system initial program load

In an illustrative embodiment, a data processing system for resource data management is provided. The data process system comprises a set of data structures defining resource relationships and locations for a set of resources to form defined resource relationships and defined locations for the set of resources, and a receiver capable of obtaining replaceable unit data and obtaining characterization data for a current resource in the set of resources to form obtained replaceable unit data and obtained characterization data for the current resource, wherein the obtained replaceable unit data is obtained from a secure device and the obtained characterization data is obtained from an unsecure device. The data processing system further comprises a writer capable of merging the obtained replaceable unit data for the current resource with the obtained characterization data for the current resource for each resource of the set of resources to form a set of data files, wherein each data file corresponds to a resource in the set of resources.

Storing resource information

A method of virtually removing field replaceable units (FRUs) from a computer system during concurrent maintenance operations. Firmware within a flexible service processor (FSP) assigns unique resource identification (RID) numbers to each FRU in the computer system. The firmware collects vital product data (VPD) for each FRU and generates a duplicate test shared library, which is stored in a memory directory corresponding to the FSP. When the firmware receives input from a graphical user interface (GUI) that includes at least a first FRU selected for virtual removal from the computer system, the firmware adds the RID number of the selected FRU to the memory directory and recollects VPD. The FSP subsequently ignores any FRUs corresponding to RID numbers stored in the memory directory during operation of the computer system.
