A method of reducing water flow through a showerhead. The method may include dividing a water stream into two separate water groups and alternating the flow of water through the two separate water groups to reduce water flow through the showerhead.

Method of reducing water flow through a showerhead

A showerhead with a massage engine is disclosed. The showerhead may include a housing defining a chamber in fluid communication with a fluid inlet and a massage mode assembly received within the chamber. The massage mode assembly may include a drive gear comprising a plurality of drive teeth, wherein the drive gear rotates due to fluid from the fluid inlet impacting the drive gear, and a driven gear comprising a plurality of driven teeth that mesh with the drive teeth of the drive gear, such that movement of the drive gear causes the driven gear to rotate, wherein the drive gear rotates faster than the driven gear rotates to selectively direct fluid from the fluid inlet to one or more nozzles.

Showerhead with massage engine

The present disclosure relates to a showerhead that outputs a pulsating or massaging spray. The showerhead may include an engine including a flow directing housing, a turbine, and a shutter to create the pulsating or intermittent spray. The flow directing housing may have a plurality of flow directing apertures defined around its perimeter, allowing for water to tangentially flow into the engine, rotating the turbine. As the turbine rotates, the shutter moves back and forth creating the pulsating spray.

Tangential oscillating massage engine

A showerhead with inline engine porting is provided. The showerhead may include a housing defining a fluid inlet pathway and an engine rotatably mounted to the housing. The engine may include a series of ports defined within a sidewall of the engine. The series of ports may be associated with different flow pathways defined within the engine. Rotation of the engine relative to the housing may selectively align the fluid inlet pathway with one of the series of ports.

A showerhead may include a first plenum in fluid communication with a first group of nozzles, a second plenum in fluid communication with a second group of nozzles, and a water direction assembly in fluid communication with the first plenum, the second plenum, and a fluid inlet, and alternatingly fluidly connecting the first plenum and the second plenum with the fluid inlet. The water direction assembly may include a turbine and a shutter arranged to oscillate between positions, oscillation of the shutter alternatingly fluidly connecting the first and second plenums with the fluid inlet.

A coupling for fluid pathways, such as for use in connecting showerheads to a fluid source. The coupling includes a fixed member, a movable member rotatably connected to the fixed member, and a locking assembly connected to the fixed member and received within the movable member. In response to a rotational force exceeding a predetermined threshold the locking assembly permits rotation of the movable member relative to the fixed member and when the rotational force drops below the predetermined threshold, the locking assembly prevents rotation of the movable member to the fixed member.
