Cleaning implements provide effective cleaning of hard surfaces by delivering a spray of cleaning composition onto a surface to be cleaned in an area generally definable by a trapezoid relative to the leading edge of said implement. Implements such as those used to clean floors can be provided with disposable scrubbing pads which absorb the composition during the cleaning operation. A separate rinse step is not required.

Combined cleaning pad and cleaning implement

The present invention provides a cleaning pad which can be used with various cleaning implement. The cleaning pad has an absorbent layer, attachment wings which can be attached to grippers located on the top surface of the mop head of a first cleaning implement and loop fasteners which can be attached to hook fasteners located on the bottom surface of the mop head of a second implement.

The cleaning implement has a handle a mop head attached to the handle and the mop head comprises a plurality of attachment structures formed from a flexible material. The cleaning implement also comprises a liquid delivery system having a container filled with a cleaning solution, fitment which has a fluid transfer check valve communicating with a nozzle and a vent valve. The vent valve has a cracking pressure such that venting occurs in the container when the pressure differential defined by P &minus;P is superior to the cracking pressure, where P is the atmospheric pressure and P is the pressure inside said container. The cleaning implement also includes a disposable cleaning pad which has an absorbent layer and an attachment layer. The attachment layer has at least one notch located on the leading edge of the attachment layer such that the cleaning solution is dispensed from the nozzle without being obstructed by the attachment layer.
