Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for performing Synchronization Single Block (SSB) transmission using a number of SSB beams. An embodiment operates by determining a SSB index for a SSB based on a candidate position in a set of candidate positions and the number of SSB beams. The embodiment determines a shift value for the SSB index based on the candidate position and the number of SSB beams. The embodiment determines a frame timing for the SSB based the SSB index and the shift value for the SSB index. The embodiment then transmits, by radio front end circuitry, the SSB to a user equipment (UE) based on the frame timing for the SSB.

Systems and methods for determining channel raster(s) and synchronization signal raster(s) for New Radio (NR) unlicensed spectrum are disclosed herein. For each of a plurality of data objects an NR channel raster position is determined using Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number (NR-ARFCN) numbers. For each corresponding NR channel. Global Synchronization Channel Numbers (GSCNs), a number of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs) based on channel subcarrier spacing (SCS). NR channel raster position placement, channel edges, synchronization signal and physical broadcast channel (SSB) edges, and an SSB raster position are calculated. The plurality of data objects may then be down selected based on e.g., corresponding Long Term Evolution (LTE) channel raster positions and/or entries of a second plurality of data objects calculated for NR channels that use a second SCS.

An apparatus for a UE includes processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for shared spectrum channel access in a 5G-NR system, the processing circuitry is to decode a synchronization signal (SS)/physical broadcast channel (PBCH) block (SSB) to obtain a master information block (MIB). System information block 1 (SIB1) configuration information is determined using the MIB. The SIB1 configuration information is used to configure a Type 0 PDCCH common search space (CSS) set (CORESET). The processing circuitry is to monitor for a PDCCH in the Type 0 PDCCH CSS set over slots that include Type 0 PDCCH monitoring occasions. At least one of the slots includes the SSB and the CORESET multiplexed according to multiplexing pattern 1. The PDCCH is detected in at least one of the Type 0 PDCCH monitoring occasions. A SIB1 is decoded using downlink control information (DCI) received via the detected PDCCH.
