Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify a first radio bearer to be used for sensing operations and a second radio bearer to be used for data communications. The base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a control message indicating the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer, where the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer may be indicative of a resource allocation for the sensing operations and the data communications. The UE may perform the sensing operations in accordance with a resource allocation, and perform the data communications in accordance with the resource allocation, where the resource allocation may be based on the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer. The UE may perform the sensing operations and the data communications in accordance with a joint communication and radar (JCR) system.

Techniques for allocating resources for communications and radar sensing

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network node may receive, from one or more user equipments (UEs), feedback information associated with a distributed sensing procedure. The network node may select, based at least in part on the feedback information, a set of UEs to be included in the distributed sensing procedure. The network node may transmit, to the set of UEs, an indication of configuration parameters associated with the distributed sensing procedure. Numerous other aspects are described.

Distributed sensing with low-resolution analog-to-digital converters

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for using situational information to aid in beam-based communications between a first user equipment (UE) and a network entity. The first UE may collect data at one or more sensors and may generate the situational information using the collected data. The first UE may then use the situational information in a beam selection procedure to identify suitable candidate beams for communicating with the network entity. The first UE may also transmit the situational information to the network entity in a beam management report, and the network entity may use the situational information to identify suitable candidate beams for communicating with the first UE. In some cases, the network entity may also use the situational information to identify suitable candidate beams for communicating with a second UE associated with the first UE.

Perception-aided beam-based communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system may receive configuration information from an assisting node, such as a roadside unit (RSU), for calculating location information for a target UE in the V2X system. The assisting node may reflect one or more radar signals from the UE towards the target, and from the target back towards the UE according to the configuration information. That is, the assisting node may modify one or more waveform parameters of the reflection according to the configuration information. The UE may calculate location information for the target based on the reflection, such as by classifying the target as non-line-of-sight (NLOS) based on modified waveform parameters, location information of the assisting node, or both.

Assisting node radar assistance

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a first wireless device transmitting, to a third wireless device associated with a signal relaying device, a first message querying whether the third wireless device is able to establish a first communications link with a second wireless device. The first wireless device may receive, from the third wireless device, signaling indicative of whether the third wireless device is able to establish the first communications link with the second wireless device and communicate with the second wireless device via a second communications link using a signal relaying device of the one or more signal relaying devices associated with the third wireless device based on the signaling.

Signaling schemes for assisted communications between wireless devices

Aspects presented herein may improve joint communication-radar system by providing a radar reference signal with GI-FMCW waveform. Aspects presented herein may be compatible with communication-centric waveforms and thereby may apply to UEs or network entities with minimal changes if specified. In one aspect, a wireless device transmits a set of communication signals. The wireless device configure one or more parameters associated with a set of radar reference signals for radar sensing based on the set of communication signals, each radar reference signal in the set of radar reference signals including a guard interval. The wireless device transmits the set of radar reference signals associated with the one or more parameters.

In various embodiments supporting directional security, a user equipment (UE) may receive from a network device a noise resource allocation including an indication of a noise direction and a noise parameter, generate a noise signal based at least in part on the noise parameter, and transmit the noise signal in the noise direction while transmitting a communication transmission signal in a different direction from the noise direction. In various embodiments, a network device may determine a geographic zone of interest, select one or more reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) associated with the geographic zone of interest, selecting one or more noise transmitting UEs, control the one or more noise transmitting UEs to transmit at least one noise signal, and control the one or more RISs to steer the at least one noise signal into the geographic zone of interest.

Methods for reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) aided cooperative directional security

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for establishing directional communications between two communication nodes via a configurable reflective surface. In some aspects, an assisting node (AN) may control a reflection characteristic (which may dictate or influence how signals reflect off of the configurable reflective surface) in accordance with parameters or configurations for directional communication between the two communication nodes. For example, the AN may use a first beam for directional communication with the first node and a second beam for directional communication with the second node, and the AN may control the reflection characteristic in accordance with an inferred incident direction of signaling at the configurable reflective surface and a desired reflected direction of the signaling from the configurable reflective surface that are associated with the first beam and the second beam, respectively.

Techniques for establishing directional communications via a configurable reflective surface

A first apparatus is provided that is configured to receive, from a wireless device, an indication enabling radar measurement sharing; receive a first set of configuration parameters for the radar measurement sharing; perform a radar measurement based on the first set of configuration parameters and network state information; and transmit a first set of radar measurement transmissions at a first radar measurement transmission rate selected based on the first set of configuration parameters and the network state information. In some aspects, a second apparatus is provided that is configured to select a first set of UEs from a plurality of UEs for radar measurement sharing; transmit, to each UE in the first set of UEs, an indication enabling the radar measurement sharing; and receive, from each UE in the first set of UEs, a radar measurement transmission based on a radar measurement performed at a corresponding UE.

Update rate adaptation for collaborative radar and mapping

Aspects presented herein may enable a first UE to utilize inference results provided by at least a second UE to improve its inference accuracy. In one aspect, a first UE establishes an ML inference result sharing session with one or more second UEs for at least one ML inference task. The first UE receives a first set of ML inference results associated with the at least one ML inference task, where the first set of ML inference results is received from the one or more second UEs during the ML inference result sharing session. The first UE estimates an aggregated ML inference result based on at least one of the first set of ML inference results or a second set of ML inference results, where the second set of ML inference results is configured by the first UE for the at least one ML inference task.

User equipment pairing and cooperative machine learning inference result sharing

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, a first user equipment (UE) may identify a configuration for an assisting node (AN) that includes an indication of a set of time resources during which the AN is active and an indication of location information that indicates communication direction information corresponding to communications via the AN during the set of time resources. The first UE may select a time resource from the set of time resources based on the indication of location information, a location of the first UE, and information associated with a packet for transmission from the first UE to a second UE via the assisting node. The first UE may transmit the packet over the selected time resource.

Configuring location information for transmitting packets via assisting nodes

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A roadside unit (RSU) may transmit, to a first communication node, a request for multi-static sensing capability information associated with the first communication node. The RSU may receive a report indicating the multi-static sensing capability information for the first communication node. The RSU may transmit, in response to receiving the multi-static sensing capability information, a control message indicating one or more multi-static sensing parameters for the first communication node. The RSU may receive one or more multi-static sensing measurements obtained based at least in part on the one or more multi-static sensing parameters. The RSU may transmit, to the first communication node, a second communication node, or both, one or more channel estimates determined based at least in part on the one or more multi-static sensing measurements.

Techniques for sidelink communication using assisting device

Aspects relate to techniques for communication between wireless communication devices using ranging channel information obtained by each of the wireless communication devices. For example, a first wireless communication device may obtain first monostatic ranging channel information based on reflected ranging signals received in response to transmission of a ranging signal. In addition, the first wireless communication device may receive ranging feedback information from a second wireless communication device associated with second monostatic ranging channel information obtained by the second wireless communication device. The first wireless communication device may then determine bistatic channel information from the first monostatic ranging channel information and the ranging feedback information and transmit a message to the second wireless communication device based on the bistatic channel information.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device (e.g., a vehicle) in wireless communications system (e.g., a cellular-vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system) may support adaptive radar transmissions based on information received in a public safety message. The communication device may use information included in the public safety message to adapt radar transmissions to enable timely detection of vulnerable road users (VRUs). In some examples, based on a location and a velocity estimate provided in the public safety message, the communication device may adjust the radar transmissions to experience a trade-off between range and velocity estimation performance. Additionally or alternatively, based on positional accuracy estimates provided in the public safety message, the communication device may adjust the radar transmissions to improve beamforming. By adapting the radar transmissions, the communication device may experience low latency and high reliability for VRU collision warnings in the C-V2X system.
