Described herein are systems and methods for providing a correlated content organization in a content management system based upon a training set. In accordance with an embodiment, the systems and methods described herein can build a training set based upon observations of received inputs to determine patterns that are used often in content merges. Once a pattern is established, the systems and methods can provide indications of proposed merges based upon the training set and rules established therefrom that fit the same, or similar (e.g., within a defined variant) of the pattern. The system can then receive an indication of whether the suggestion is accepted or rejected, and such decision can be fed back into the learning system. This way the accuracy of the content merge improves over time.

System and method for providing correlated content organization in an enterprise content management system based on a training set

In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for enabling in-place record content management. A records management agent within a content management system can communicate with a records management system in an asynchronous manner, such as in response to a request or prompt, or in combination with check-in of content into the content management system. The records management agent can fetch a records folders hierarchy from the records management system for use in selecting record policies to be applied to content. The records management agent can associate content with selected records folders within the records folders hierarchy, and can update metadata corresponding to the content. The records management agent can send the updated metadata to the records management system. In an embodiment, the records management agent can be provided as a reusable, pluggable component within an existing content management system.

System and method for in-place record content management

Described herein are systems and methods for providing a correlated content organizing technique in a content management system. In accordance with an embodiment, the systems and methods discussed herein provide the ability to dynamically merge multiple correlated (where dependency is derived from each content item's metadata set) content items into one single content item/document and/or organize them into a single folio for ease of future access. For example, when a user performs check-in of a new content item into an ECM application, a smart content organizer agent can find correlated and/or dependent content items and attempt to merge both content items into one single content item. This can enable all the correlated content items to exist as one single document/item in an ECM application, with the benefit of providing increased ease of accessing correlated and/or dependent content item(s) in a shorter amount time.

System and method for providing a correlated content organizing technique in an enterprise content management system

A content management system (CMS) receives a create request indicating portions of content items maintained in a repository. CMS generates a new content item incorporating the indicated portions and checks-in the new content item into the repository. In another aspect, a CMS stores a link data indicating that a first portion of the new content item is linked to a second portion of a content item existing in the repository. Upon determining that the second portion has been modified after the checking-in of the new content item, CMS replaces the first portion in the new content item with the modified portion. In one more aspect, CMS receives an update request specifying a modified portion of a content item. CMS generates a revised content item by incorporating the modified portion in the content item and checks-in the revised content item as a revised version of the content item into the repository.

Content management system

In accordance with an embodiment, a system and method is described for enabling federated content management using a federated library and federated metadata propagation. The system can include a plurality of content servers, each including a processor and configured to store content items at a respective content database. The system can also include a federated library configured to store content items received from the plurality of content servers, as federated content items accessible to each content server of the plurality of content servers, and a federated database configured to receive and store metadata associated with the federated content items. The system can also include a federative agent associated with each content server and configured to communicate the metadata between the plurality of content servers and the federated database. In an embodiment, the system can be provided as a reusable, pluggable component for use with existing content management systems.

System and method for federated content management using a federated library and federated metadata propagation

In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for enabling content tethering for a content management system. A content tethering component can receive an indication to link (tether) content items of a content management system to one another, and associates the content items in a hierarchical structure according to the linking. Content items can exist and evolve independently, can be placed under different folder hierarchies, and can be managed by the same or different users. The hierarchical structure can indicate relationships between linked content items, and notify users associated with linked items in response to events (e.g., modifications or deletions) affecting those documents. A security data can be used to determine permissions and privileges for particular users with respect to particular items. In an embodiment, the content tethering component can be provided as a pluggable module for use with existing content management systems.

System and method for content tethering in an enterprise content management system

An aspect of the present disclosure provides for managing content items in a storage system. In an embodiment, a trash command is received from a user, where the trash command specifies an expression of a set of attribute conditions connected by logical operators. A set of content items having attributes matching said expression are selected, where the set of content items are stored in corresponding logical locations on the storage system prior to receiving the trash command. The selected set of content items are moved from respective logical locations on the storage system to a set of trash folders, wherein selecting and moving the set of content items are performed in response to receiving the trash command specifying the expression.
