A method for controlling, by a user equipment (UE), PDCP aggregation in a dual connectivity mode includes receiving a first Uplink (UL) data threshold value from a network; monitoring a throughput of a UL data of the UE and occurrence of at least one UL channel condition, wherein the at least one UL channel condition includes at least one of a network condition and a UE condition; determining whether to perform a calculation of a second UL data threshold value based on the occurrence of the at least one UL channel condition; calculating the second UL data threshold value based on a plurality of network parameters and a plurality of UE parameters, based on determining to perform the calculation of the second UL data threshold value; comparing an amount of the UL data with the second UL data threshold value; and controlling PCDP aggregation based on a result of the comparison.

Method and user equipment for controlling PDCP aggregation

Embodiments herein disclose UE based implementations to manage voice/video over new radio (VoNR)/EPSFB calls. In an embodiment, there can be a zero CQI reporting for indicating a signal deterioration during the VoNR call. In an embodiment, at least one of a Wi-Fi network or a dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) feature, a UE initiated fallback procedure and an internet bearer can be used for continuing the VoNR call. Various embodiments may reduce the call failures and manage calls on VoNR/5G which can be useful to the UE in volatile signal conditions.

The embodiments herein achieve a method and a UE for enabling a transport layer optimization using a preemptive cross layer signaling. The method includes transmitting at least one information to the NR L2 receiver for the transport layer optimization for a data flow(s). The at least one information includes at least one of a configuration for requesting a buffer status of the NR L2 receiver, a policy to inspect data packets of the data flow(s), a configuration for enabling or disabling the transport layer optimization, a retransmission timeout (RTO) and a round trip time (RTT) of the data flow(s), an impending RTO value of the data flow(s) and a threshold value of a buffer size. Further, the method includes enabling the transport layer optimization based on the at least one information received from the NR L3 receiver to avoid receiving of duplicate data packets from a TCP sender.

The disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). A method for performing PLMN selection by user equipment (UE) () in dual registration mode is provided. The method includes registering on a registered PLMN (RPLMN) for receiving first wireless technology services and detecting, unavailability of second wireless technology services in at least one of the RPLMN and an equivalent PLMN (EqPLMN), starting, a periodic timer in response to detecting the unavailability of the second wireless technology services in at least one of the RPLMN and the EqPLMN, and performing, the PLMN selection based on a PLMN scan after an expiry of the periodic timer.

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The UE signals the LTE network about the disabling of NR capability, requests enabling of data transfer through bearers of a MCG bearers associated with the LTE network in a current MCG RRC session, and prevents addition of SCG bearers associated with the NR network. The UE recovers data in the SCG bearers, lost due the issues in the NR network, through the MCG bearers. The UE can send a Tracking Area Update (TAU) to indicate the disabling of NR capability if the connectivity issues persist.

Methods and systems for managing bearer configuration of user equipment with EN-DC capability

The various embodiments of the present invention disclose a method of transmitting a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) discovery frame over a PC5 link. According to one embodiment, the method includes registering, by one or more User Equipment's (UE), with a Prose Server by sending a capability information for receiving direct discovery or communication parameters, policies, authorization, provisioning and radio resources by the prose server, the one or more UE's to include a WLAN discovery frame in a PC5 message, transmitting, by a first User Equipment, a PC5 discovery message to a second User Equipment, indicating by the second UE, a message to a neighbor awareness networking (NAN) discovery engine indicating the reception of PC5 Discovery message along with the WLAN discovery frame, and establishing by the second UE, a WLAN communication link with the first UE, without performing a WLAN discovery search.
