Managing computing workloads within a computing environment including identifying computing parameters of datacenter elements of each computing cluster of a computing environment; for each computing cluster of the computing environment: determining a health of the power device of the computing cluster; for each computing node of the computing cluster: determining a processing load of the computing node; determining a computing cost associated with a geo-location of the computing node; calculating, for each computing cluster, an availability of computing resources of the computing cluster based on the computing parameters of the data center elements of the computing cluster, the health of the power device of the computing cluster, the processing load of each computing node of the computing cluster, and the computing cost of each computing node of the computing cluster; generating a ranking of each computing cluster based on the availability of the computing resources of the computing cluster.

Managing computing workloads within a computing environment

A datacenter includes a heterogeneous node group efficiency management system that is coupled to node devices and that, based on a power consumption and performance associated with each node device, generates node group rankings that it uses to group subsets of the node devices into respective heterogeneous node groups. The heterogeneous node group efficiency management system then identifies workload characteristic(s) and performance requirement(s) for a workload provided for deployment, identifies a first heterogeneous node group that satisfies the performance requirement for the workload, and identifies first node device(s) that are included in the first heterogeneous node group and that are configured to perform the first workload having the workload characteristic(s) with a higher power efficiency than second node device(s) that are included in the first heterogeneous node group. The heterogeneous node group efficiency management system then deploys the workload on the first node device(s) in the first heterogeneous node group.

Managing power consumption for computing cluster, including for each IHS of the computing cluster: executing I/O computing workloads at the IHS associated with movement of block storage data, stored at a disk array in communication with the IHS, between the disk array and the IHS; during execution of the I/O computing workloads, determining an I/O power usage of the IHS; calculating an accumulated I/O power consumption of the plurality of IHS based on a summation of the I/O power usage of each of the IHS; during movement of the block storage data, calculating a power consumption of the disk array; calculating, for each IHS, a power storage consumption of the IHS based on the I/O power usage of the IHS, the accumulated I/O power consumption, and the power consumption of the disk array; allocating additional workloads among the plurality of IHS based on the power storage consumption of each IHS.

The method may include identifying, by a warranty measuring model associated with an information handling system, a first change event associated with the information handling system; obtaining first change information associated with the first change event; making a first determination that the first change event is not associated with an entry of a warranty audit table (WAT); generating a new WAT entry in the WAT using the first change information and an initial timestamp; identifying, by a warranty measuring model, a second change event associated with the information handling system; obtaining second change information associated with the second change event; making a second determination that the second change event is associated with an existing WAT entry of the WAT; updating the existing WAT entry using the second change information and a final timestamp.

Method and system for managing warranty claims associated with information handling systems

A method includes obtaining data associated with a volatile storage device and a non-volatile storage device of an information handling system during a normal mode of operation of the information handling system, and calculating a first data transfer frequency and a first transfer data size from the volatile storage device to the non-volatile storage device based on the data associated with the volatile storage device and the non-volatile storage device during the normal mode of operation of the information handling system. The method also includes detecting an event indicating a power outage of the information handling system, and in response to the detecting the event, determining a data management policy to be applied to the information handling system during the safe mode of operation of the information handling system. The method also includes calculating a second data transfer frequency and a second transfer data size from the volatile storage device to the non-volatile storage device based the data management policy, and updating a first setting and a second setting in a data management system that enforces the data management policy.

System and method for data protection during power loss of a storage system

A datacenter includes a datacenter efficiency management system coupled to node devices. For each of the node devices and based on a power consumption associated with that node device and a performance associated with that node device, the datacenter efficiency management system generates a node group ranking that it uses to group subsets of the node devices into respective homogenous node groups, and then deploys a respective workload on at least one node device in each of the homogenous node groups. Based on at least one of a node workload bandwidth, a node power consumption, and a node health of each node device on which a workload was deployed, the datacenter efficiency management system then generates a workload performance efficiency ranking of the node devices that it then uses to migrate at least one workload between the node devices.

A networked system includes a computing device having a central processing system and accelerator system(s). A central processor/accelerator power management system coupled to the computing device via a network operates to deploy workload(s) on the computing device and receive workload performance information from the computing device that identifies a central processing system utilization of the central processing system in performing the workload(s) and an accelerator system utilization of each accelerator system in performing the workload(s). Based on the workload performance information, the computing device determines a first power consumption ratio of the central processing system and the accelerator system(s) in performing the workload(s), and modifies operation of at least one of the central processing system and the accelerator system(s) to change the first power consumption ratio to a second power consumption ratio that is more power efficient than the first power consumption ratio.

A method for power consumption management in a datacenter. A processor retrieves a power usage model and historical power data for devices in the datacenter and calculates a first supply power from a power supplier that is available for distribution to the datacenter during a load shedding time period. A first power usage for the datacenter is calculated during the load shedding time period. The method further includes determining if the first supply power is greater than the first power usage for the datacenter during the load shedding time period. In response to determining that the first supply power is not greater than the first power usage, a first device in the datacenter is identified to reduce power consumption. The first device in the datacenter is triggered to reduce power consumption during the load shedding time period.

Power consumption management in an information handling system

A method, an information handling system (IHS), and an event logging system generate combined event logs in an IHS. The method includes receiving, via a remote access controller (RAC), a tagged log containing operating system (OS) event data. A hardware log containing hardware event data is retrieved from a RAC memory. The tagged log and the hardware log are combined to form a combined event log containing both OS event data and hardware event data in a uniform format. The combined event log is stored to the RAC memory.

A method, storage control system and information handling system (IHS) provides copying of a first directory containing a first plurality of files from a client to a target server. The method includes receiving, via a first processor of the client, a request to copy the first directory containing the first plurality of files from a first storage device to the target server. The first directory is parsed into a first i-node tree. Metadata corresponding to the first i-node tree is generated and transmit from the client to the target server. A second processor at the target server is triggered to generate a second directory based on the metadata corresponding to the first i-node tree. The first plurality of files contained in the first directory from the first storage device is transmitted to the target server.

System and method for copying directory structures

A method, storage control system and information handling system (IHS) enables efficient copying of a first directory containing a first plurality of files from a client to a target server. The method includes receiving, via a first processor of the client, a request to copy the first directory containing the first plurality of files from a first storage device to the target server. The first directory is parsed into a first i-node tree. Metadata corresponding to the first i-node tree is generated and transmit from the client to the target server. A second processor at the target server is triggered to generate a second directory based on the metadata corresponding to the first i-node tree. The first plurality of files contained in the first directory from the first storage device is transmitted to the target server.

A technique for creating different sessions for each tab of a client browser window includes receiving a first login request associated with a first tab of the client browser window, and in response to the first login request: generating a first uniform resource locator and a first session cookie having a path that includes the first uniform resource locator; and transmitting the first session cookie to the client browser. The technique further includes receiving a second login request that is associated with a second tab of the client browser window, and in response to the second login request, generating a second uniform resource locator and a second session cookie. The second uniform resource locator is different from the first uniform resource locator and a path of the second session cookie includes the second uniform source locator. The technique also includes transmitting the second session cookie to the client browser.
