In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may obtain forward error correction (FEC) information associated with an application data unit (ADU). The UE may select a first uplink channel from the multiple uplink channels allocated by the scheduling information based on the indication that uplink shared channel selection is enabled. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described for user equipment (UE) indication of uplink scheduling information to a base station. The uplink scheduling information may provide information on a periodic traffic pattern, such as for periodic extended reality (XR) data flows. The uplink scheduling information may provide uplink assistance information (UAI) to a base station to assist the base station with providing uplink resources that efficiently serve an XR session. The UAI may indicate one or more of a periodicity of uplink traffic, an offset between uplink traffic and a packet arrival, a data size for uplink traffic for each time period associated with the XR session, a request to enable uplink transmission skipping, or any combinations thereof. A base station may provide one or more dynamic grants, configured grants, or proactive grants to a UE based on the uplink scheduling information.

For example, a network entity may output, and a user equipment (UE) may receive, a first control message identifying a first discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle and a second, different DRX cycle for the UE to use, the first and second DRX cycles having a first and second active duration, respectively. The network entity may also output a second control message identifying periodic resources for the UE to use to monitor for a periodic signal, the periodic resources being outside at least the first active duration. Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for flexible uplink transmission are provided. An example method may include receiving a configuration of resources for a PUCCH or a PUSCH associated with UCI, where the configuration of resources may be received from a network entity, where the UCI indicates a set of resources corresponding to a transmission in a first subset of resources associated with the PUSCH and a skipped transmission in a second subset of resources associated with the PUSCH or indicates an MCS for the PUSCH, where the UCI would overlap with an uplink transmission, where the set of resources may include the first subset of resources and the second subset of resources. The example method may further include transmitting at least one of the UCI or the uplink transmission to the network entity.

Flexible uplink transmission with UCI collisions

The method may include a user equipment (UE) generating a set of multimedia packets including a first multimedia packet and a second multimedia packet that is generated after the first multimedia packet. The UE may add the set of multimedia packets to a queue and apply an uplink packet handling protocol. Using the uplink packet handling protocol, the UE may discard the first multimedia packet and transmit, to a base station, the second multimedia packet. Using the second multimedia packet, a server in communication with the base station may generate a video frame and transmit the video frame to the UE via the base station.

A user equipment (UE) may receive multiple transport blocks (TBs) representing an application data unit (ADU) from a base station. The base station may transmit an indication that the UE is to provide ADU level feedback. The UE may determine the ADU level feedback based on whether the ADU is successfully received and decoded or not. The UE may indicate the ADU level feedback for the TBs to the base station. The base station and the UE may communicate according to the ADU level feedback.
