A method of generating a patient-specific prosthetic includes receiving anatomic imaging data representative of a portion of a patient's anatomy. A first digital representation of the anatomic imaging data is defined. The first digital representation of the anatomic imaging data is modified. A second digital representation of the portion of the patient's anatomy is defined based on the modifying of the first digital representation of the anatomic imaging data. A patient-specific prosthetic template of the portion of the patient's anatomy is generated based at least in part on the second digital representation of the anatomic imaging data.

Devices and methods for anatomic mapping for prosthetic implants

A method of generating a patient-specific prosthesis includes receiving anatomic imaging data representative of a portion of a patient's anatomy. A first digital representation of the anatomic imaging data is defined. The first digital representation of the anatomic imaging data is modified. A second digital representation of the portion of the patient's anatomy is defined based on the modifying of the first digital representation of the anatomic imaging data. A patient-specific prosthesis is generated based at least in part on the second digital representation of the anatomic imaging data.

Systems and methods for collecting and processing physical space data for use while performing an image-guided surgical (IGS) procedure are provided. The system and method includes obtaining a computer model of a non-rigid structure of interest in a patient and performing a rigid alignment of the computer model and surface data in a patient space associated with at least a portion of the non-rigid structure. The system and method also include computing a deformation of the computer model that provides a non-rigid alignment of the computer model and surface data, the deformation computed using a set of boundary conditions defined for each node of the computer model based on the rigid alignment and a kernel function. Additionally, the system and method can include displaying data for facilitating the IGS procedure based on the deformation.

System and method for correcting data for deformations during image-guided procedures

Systems, apparatus and methods for localizing and/or determining the relative position of surgical instruments during a surgical procedure are disclosed. A method includes capturing an image depicting at least a portion of a first surgical instrument disposed at a first position with respect to a target tissue, and at least a portion of a second surgical instrument disposed at a second position with respect to the target tissue, the second position different from the first position. The method includes transforming the image to a three-dimensional model so the first position of the portion of the first surgical instrument is rendered with the three-dimensional model, and the second position of the portion of the second surgical instrument is rendered with the three-dimensional model. The method includes calculating distance between the portion of the first surgical instrument and the portion of the second surgical instrument based on the three dimensional model.

System and method for correcting data for deformations during image-guided surgical procedures

A system and method for using pre-procedural images for registration for image-guided therapy (IGT), also referred to as image-guided intervention (IGI), in percutaneous surgical application. Pseudo-features and patient abdomen and organ surfaces are used for registration and to establish the relationship needed for guidance. Three-dimensional visualizations of the vasculature, tumor(s), and organs may be generated for enhanced guidance information. The invention facilitates extensive pre-procedural planning, thereby significantly reducing procedural times. It also minimizes the patient exposure to radiation.

System and method for abdominal surface matching using pseudo-features

A method of compensation for intra-operative brain shift of a living subject. In one embodiment, the method includes the steps of pro-operatively acquiring brain images of the living subject, constructing a statistical atlas of brain displacements of the living subject from the pro-operatively acquired brain images, intra-operatively measuring brain displacements of the living subject, deriving an intra-operative displacement atlas from the intra-operatively measured brain displacements and the statistical atlas, obtaining intra-operative brain shift at least from the intra-operative displacement atlas, and compensating for the intra-operative brain shift.
