A method includes receiving wavelength domain data for a time step, performing a Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) to transform the wavelength domain data for the time step into frequency domain data for the time step only for the limited set of frequency bins associated with a frequency of interest, calculating pressure based on the frequency domain data for the time step, and updating the frequency of interest and the limited set of frequency bins. The method includes repeating receiving wavelength data for subsequent time steps, performing a DFT to transform the wavelength data for the respective subsequent time steps, calculating pressure for each subsequent time step, and updating the frequency of interest and limited set of frequency bins for each subsequent time step. The method includes outputting pressure data based on calculating pressure for the subsequent time steps.

Sliding discrete Fourier transform (DFT) bins for fuel quantity measurements

A windshield wiper system (WWS) is provided and includes a wiper blade assembly drivable along a first sweep angle, an internal wiper trigger disposed to move with the wiper blade assembly, a measurement system configured to monitor a position of the internal wiper trigger from which a corresponding position of the wiper blade assembly relative to the first sweep angle is measurable and to output a sweep angle feedback signal corresponding to monitoring results and a controller. The controller is receptive of the sweep angle feedback signal.

Dynamic sweep angle measurement for fault monitoring of windshield wiper systems

A configurable windshield wiper system for a variable sweep angle and/or variable sweep speed. The system includes a bidirectional motor, a gearbox, the gearbox having and input shaft operably coupled to the motor and an output shaft; the gear box configured to ratiometrically step down the number of turns at its output shaft relative to its input shaft; a wiper arm for sweeping a surface of a windshield, the wiper arm operably coupled to an output of the gearbox; and a controller in operable communication with the motor, the controller configured to execute an algorithm to control the position and speed of the motor to achieve a configured sweep angle and configured sweep speed for the wiper arm.

Configurable variable sweep variable speed wiper system

An aircraft includes an air data sensor and a heating element. The air data sensor includes a probe and transducer coupled to the probe. The heating element is disposed within the probe and is configured to emit heat that heats the probe. The aircraft further comprises a heater control system in signal communication with the heating element and a thermal sensor system. The thermal sensor system is configured to determine the emitted heat from the heating element based on the thermal radiation of heat released from a surface of the probe. In this manner, the heater control system can actively vary the temperature of the heating element based on the emitted heat from the heating element.
