Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform measurements on one or more synchronization signals using a low power wake-up radio (WUR) of the UE. For example, the UE may receive first control information associated with a low power synchronization signal. In some examples, the first control information may include a periodicity of the low power synchronization signal and an indication of which measurements to perform on the low power synchronization signals. Based on the first control information, the UE may monitor, using the low power WUR, a resource occasion for the low power synchronization signal. Based on monitoring and receiving the low power synchronization signals, the UE may perform, using the low power WUR, the measurements of the low power synchronization signal. The UE may transmit a report including the measurements of the low power synchronization signal based on performing the measurements.

A user equipment (UE) may receive a grant scheduling repetition-based system information block transmissions for the UE, the grant indicating a mapping configuration identifying time-frequency resources for a second repetition of a system information block transmission relative to a first repetition of the system information block transmission. The UE may receive, in a first subset bandwidth of a system bandwidth, the first repetition of the system information block transmission according to the grant. The UE may receive, in a second subset bandwidth of the system bandwidth, the second repetition of the system information block transmission according to the grant and based at least in part on the mapping configuration.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit an indication of a capability of the UE to support a restricted bandwidth for data signaling. The UE may receive an indication of a bandwidth part for control signaling and an indication of a set of frequency domain resources for the data signaling. The set of frequency domain resources may correspond to a subset of the bandwidth part in accordance with the restricted bandwidth. The UE may communicate the control signaling over the bandwidth part and data signaling over the set of frequency domain resources. In some cases, the bandwidth restriction may correspond to a bandwidth size for the set of frequency domain resources or a number of resource blocks in the set of frequency domain resources.

Frequency resource allocation for reduced capability devices

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for a user equipment (UE), which may include a reduced capability (RedCap) UE, and a supporting cell. The UE may receive a synchronization signal block (SSB). The UE may receive a configuration of an active downlink bandwidth part (BWP) that is not configured with a SSB. The UE may tune, from the active downlink BWP to a different frequency for a layer 1 (L1) measurement gap defined by a L1 measurement gap configuration. The UE may perform a L1 measurement of the SSB on the different frequency during the L1 measurement gap. The UE may be a RedCap UE, the active BWP may be for RedCap UEs, and the SSB may define an initial BWP for the RedCap UEs and non-RedCap UEs, and the different frequency may be the initial BWP.

A synchronization signal block (SSB) may be dynamically scheduled within an operating bandwidth of a user equipment (UE), where the operating bandwidth of the UE is outside of a frequency resource in which a cell defining SSB (CD-SSB) is scheduled. For example, a UE may operate in a reduced capability mode or an enhanced reduced capability mode where the UE may operate in a narrower bandwidth than the serving cell bandwidth. Control signaling may dynamically configure an SSB for the UE within the operating bandwidth of the UE. The UE may monitor for the non-cell defining SSB (NCD-SSB) and skip monitoring for the CD-SSB based on the dynamically configured NCD-SSB. For example, a reduced capability UE or an enhanced reduced capability UE may monitor for the NCD-SSB without performing RF retuning between receiving the control signaling and monitoring for the NCD-SSB.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect, using a low-power receiver of the UE, a low-power synchronization signal (LP-SS) that is associated with a first coverage area that is larger than a second coverage area associated with a legacy synchronization signal block. The UE may monitor, using the low-power receiver, for a low-power wake up signal, based at least in part on the LP-SS, that is associated with a third coverage area that is larger than a fourth coverage area associated with a legacy wake up signal. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication that the UE is to perform radio resource management (RRM) measurements at a first periodicity. The UE may identify an RRM measurement relaxation grouping to which the UE belongs based on at least one of a mobility of the UE or a location of the UE within a cell, such as whether the UE is near a cell-edge, or whether the UE is stationary or moving in accordance with low-mobility, or a combination thereof. The UE may determine a first relaxation parameter from a plurality of relaxation parameters based on measurement relaxation criterion associated with the cell, where the plurality of relaxation parameters may be associated with the RRM measurement relaxation grouping. The UE may perform the RRM measurements at a second periodicity that is based on the first relaxation parameter.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for providing direct current locations of bandwidth parts (BWPs) in a BWP hopping pattern. Certain aspects relate to a method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). In some examples, the UE may receive, from a base station (BS), a request for uplink direct current location information of the UE, wherein the UE is configured to transmit to the BS on an uplink according to a frequency hopping pattern for hopping between a plurality of uplink bandwidth parts corresponding to different frequency bandwidths. In some examples, the UE may transmit, to the BS, at least one uplink direct current location applicable to the plurality of uplink bandwidth parts. In some examples, the UE may transmit, to the BS, on the uplink according to the frequency hopping pattern.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) may be configured with a frequency hopping pattern for communication between the UE and a base station, and also may be configured with a measurement gap pattern for measurement of one or more reference signals from one or more neighboring base stations. One or more switching timings of a set of switching timings of the frequency hopping pattern may be aligned with a reference point associated with the measurement gap pattern, which may provide aligned switching gaps in the frequency hopping pattern and the measurement gap pattern.

The UE has a narrower bandwidth part (NBWP) that follows a NBWP hopping pattern and allows the UE to hop frequency over time within a larger bandwidth. The UE receives a configuration of one or more NBWP hopping patterns for one or more configured NBWPs, each configured NBWP having a bandwidth less than or equal to a maximum configurable bandwidth of a bandwidth part. The UE communicates on frequency domain resources for a frequency domain hop indicated by the active NBWP hopping pattern applied to the active NBWP. Narrow bandwidth part hopping pattern

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for measurement without gaps for narrow bandwidth part (BWP) hopping. A user equipment (UE) may measure one or more synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) while performing BWP hopping according to a hopping pattern. The UE may receive data and measure an SSB in a same frequency hop during a same measurement window without a gap. A base station (BS) may transmit a control message to the UE to configure an active BWP for the UE, a set of measurement windows, a hopping pattern, and a set of SSBs that occur within a set of frequency hops to support the measurement without gaps. The active BWP may be defined for measurement purposes to reduce ambiguity. The control message may support alignment of a measurement window with an active frequency hop to support measurement without gaps.
