A coupling element connects a connection piece with an insertable end of a connection tube having a toroidal flange for contacting the connection piece in the tube inserting direction. A plug-in fork can be inserted into the coupling element to releasably secure the inserted tube end area against the tube inserting direction, with the tube torus held in place by the plug-in fork. For this purpose, pairs of plug-through openings are provided on side walls of the connection piece opposite one another, so that one prong of the plug-in fork can be inserted into each opening. Inserting bevels are assigned to at least a portion of the plug-through openings, which inserting bevels are shaped such that they cause a forced movement of the plug in fork in the tube inserting direction during its insertion in the plug-in fork inserting direction.

Pipe connection coupling, especially for connecting a pipe on a motor

A tube connection for a water box of a motor vehicle heat exchanger is disclosed. A connecting sleeve is provided which is a component which is separate from the water box and is provided with a connecting area which can be inserted into a corresponding opening of the water box.

Tube connection for a water box of a motor vehicle heat exchanger

A heat exchanger (1) with at least one heat-exchange tube (11) which is held at the end in an end piece (3) such that the joint is liquid- and gas-tight. The end piece (3) has an opening for each tube to which it is connected, allowing the heat-exchange fluid to pass through from the tube (11) into a conduit box and in the opposite direction, a sleeve-like connection socket (8) being located in the region of each opening. The connection socket (8) comprises a cylindrical slot (9) coaxial to the opening and open at the heat-exchange tube end, forming an inner (14) and outer (15) annular wall. The end of the heat-exchange tube (11) is pushed into the slot. A section of the outer annular wall (15) adjacent to the heat-exchange block is longer than the corresponding section of the inner annular wall (14).

Heat exchanger

A pipe connection arrangement for a water tank of a heat exchanger of a motor vehicle heater includes a pipe equipped with a collar at a pipe end for inserting into a connecting sleeve at the water tank. The pipe is provided with a seal on a first side of the collar, with the seal being pressed tightly into a recess in the connecting sleeve. A holding clamp rests on the other side of the collar facing away from the seal with the holding clamp being formed asd a U-shape. The clamp is developed in such a way that its U-bracket-shaped part rests tightly against the pipe exterior. This design results in the load transmission being evenly transmitted over a relatively large surface area. The sleeve includes openings formed as slots for receiving the clamp, with a reinforcing web provided in the center of the slots. The clamp is secured by another gripping part that projects from the bracket part and engages behind a reinforcing web of the connecting sleeve. Another advantage the invention provides is the possibility of mounting pipes closely at water tanks without any screwed connection and providing a largely even sealing force.

Pipe connection for heat exchangers

A motor vehicle heat exchanger for independently heating different passenger areas comprising first and second tube/fin block units for transferring heat from coolant flowing through tubes thereof to air flowing therethrough to first and second passenger areas, respectively. Common upper and lower coolant reservoir tanks supply coolant to both tube/fin units and receive coolant returning therefrom respectively. Intake tubes extend through a common gap between the first and second tube/fin units to supply heated coolant to the lower cooling tank.
