Described herein are fibers, nonwoven fabrics, and other nonwoven articles comprising a blend of at least one propylene-based elastomer and an impact copolymer. The impact copolymer is a reactor blend and comprises a propylene homopolymer component and a copolymer component, where the copolymer component comprises less than about 55 wt % ethylene-derived units, based on the weight of the copolymer component.

Fibers and nonwoven materials prepared therefrom

Described herein are fibers, nonwoven fabrics, and other nonwoven articles comprising a blend of at least one propylene-based elastomer and a broad molecular weight polypropylene or a broad molecular weight impact copolymer. The broad molecular weight polypropylene has a molecular weight distribution (MWD) of greater than 4.5. The impact copolymer is a reactor blend and comprises a propylene homopolymer component and a copolymer component, where the propylene homopolymer component has a molecular weight distribution (MWD) of greater than 4.5.

Disclosed herein are embodiments of films which comprise a polypropylene resin comprising at least 50 mol % propylene, an MWD (Mw/Mn) of greater than 5, and a branching index (g') of at least 0.95.

Articles comprising broad molecular weight distribution polypropylene resins

This invention relates to a process for producing propylene-based in-reactor compositions comprising: (a) contacting propylene and from about 0 wt % to 10 wt % Cand/or Cto Calpha olefins under polymerization conditions in a first stage to form Component A; (b) contacting Component A, ethylene and from about 3 wt % to 30 wt % of one or more Cto Calpha olefin, in the presence of a metallocene catalyst system, under polymerization conditions in a second stage to form Component B; wherein the metallocene catalyst system comprises: (i) a metallocene compound comprising a group 4, 5, or 6 metal, (ii) an activator, and (iii) a support material; and (c) obtaining a propylene-based in-reactor composition comprising Component A and Component B, wherein the propylene-based in-reactor composition has a multimodal melting point. Propylene-based in-reactor compositions and articles comprising these propylene compositions are also disclosed.

Propylene copolymer compositions and processes to produce them

A propylene-based impact copolymer (ICP) and composition including the ICP, the ICP comprising a polypropylene homopolymer and within the range of from 10 wt % to 45 wt % of propylene copolymer based on the weight of the ICP, wherein the copolymer comprises from 20 wt % to 44 wt % ethylene, 1-butene, 1-hexene and/or 1-octene derived units and from 80 to 56 wt % propylene-derived units based on the weight of the propylene copolymer, the propylene-based impact copolymer having a Melt Flow Rate (230&#xb0; C./2.16 kg) within the range of from 10 g/10 min to 50 g/10 min and an Elongation at Break of greater than 70%.

Disclosed is a multilayer fabric and a method of forming a multilayer fabric comprising one or more facing layers and one or more elastic layers adjacent to or sandwiched there between, the one or more facing layers comprising a polypropylene; and a propylene-&#x3b1;-olefin elastomer having and an MFR of less than 80 dg/min; wherein the facing layer is extensible and non-elastic and has a Handle-O-Meter value of less than 60 g and a 1% Secant Flexural Modulus of less than 1000 MPa. In certain embodiments, polyethylenes are absent from the facing layer(s).

Extensible nonwoven facing layer for elastic multilayer fabrics

Plastic toughened plastics include a polymer composition having a polypropylene component and a second polymer component. The polypropylene component is present in an amount from about 50 to about 95 weight percent based on the total weight of the blend. The second polymer component is present in an amount from about 5 to about 50 weight percent based on the total weight of the blend, is a BOCD or BCD blend of at least two ssPE components, and has an overall density greater than about 0.90 g/cm. Optionally, the plastic toughened plastics include one or more third polymer component selected from propylene-olefin elastomers and ethylene-propylene rubbers, which are present in an amount from about 1 to about 50 weight percent, based on the total weight of the blend.
