Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An access and mobility management function (AMF) proxy may establish communication links with a RAN and a first AMF of a first network operator, and with a second AMF of a second network operator. The AMF proxy may receive a first message from the RAN, the first AMF, or the second AMF, the message indicating a manipulated or unmanipulated AMF user equipment (UE) identifier (ID) and a manipulated or unmanipulated RAN UE ID. The AMF proxy may perform ID manipulation the UE IDs in the first message based on a first mapping between the manipulated and unmanipulated AMF UE ID and a second mapping between the manipulated and unmanipulated RAN UE ID. The AMF proxy may transmit a second message to the first AMF, the second AMF, or the RAN based on the AMF UE ID or the RAN UE ID.

Radio access network sharing using a non-transparent proxy function

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for multicast communications that originate at a wide area network (WAN) using a first RAT to be provided to a local area network (LAN) that uses a second RAT that is used to complete the multicast communications to a user equipment (UE). A scheduler of the second RAT may use one or more parameters associated with the multicast communications to prioritize transmission of the multicast data to one or more UEs. The scheduler of the second RAT may prioritize the multicast communications with other communications of the second RAT based on one or more of a number of clients served, a quality of service (QoS) or bandwidth of the multicast communications, a capability of the UEs, one or more other data flows, a feedback scheme associated with the multicast communications, or any combinations thereof.

Multicast traffic scheduling across multiple radio access technologies

Wireless communication systems and methods related to Radio Link Control (RLC) status reporting are provided. A wireless communication device receives one or more radio link control (RLC) packet data units (PDUs) of a sequence of RLC PDUs. The wireless communication device determines missing RLC data PDUs in the sequence of RLC PDUs based on the received one or more RLC PDUs. The wireless communication device receives a first uplink (UL) grant. The wireless communication device transmits a first RLC status report including an indication of a first subset of the missing RLC PDUs less than all the missing RLC PDUs, the indication of the first subset of missing PDUs being based on a size of the first UL grant. The wireless communication device modifies a RLC status prohibit timer based on the transmitted first RLC status report indicating less than all the missing RLC PDUs.

Radio link control (RLC) status reporting

A receiving device re-establishing a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity. The receiving device resets a robust header compression (ROHC) context. The receiving device receives packet retransmissions having header compression based on the ROHC. The receiving device performs decompression of the packet retransmissions. The receiving device discards duplicate packets after performing the decompression of the packet retransmissions.

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one aspect of the disclosure, a user equipment (UE) is configured to manage a state variable (associated with a radio link control (RLC) entity or a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity) that enables the UE to maintain synchronization with a base station during a communication session. For example, a base station may transmit, to the UE, a control PDU or a synchronization PDU that includes a value of a state variable maintained by a base station to enable the UE to update its state variable to maintain synchronization with the base station. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Management of one or more state variables associated with a communication window

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit capability information indicating a capability of the UE to receive multicast communications while operating in an inactive state. The UE may receive, from a first cell, configuration information that indicates a common frequency resource (CFR) associated with receiving multicast communications from the first cell while operating in the inactive state. The UE may receive, from the first cell, multicast mobility information associated with receiving multicast communications from one or more neighboring cells while operating in the inactive state. The UE may receive, while operating in the inactive state, one or more multicast communications from at least one of the first cell or a second cell based at least in part on at least one of the configuration information or the multicast mobility information. Configuration of multicast reception and mobility for user equipment in an inactive state

A base-station (BS) receiving a random access request from user equipment (a UE), followed by a connection request. The connection request contains UE identity information which may have one of multiple formats depending on whether the access request and/or the connection request indicate that the UE is operating as a bandwidth-limited (BL) UE, an enhanced coverage (CE) UE, or a UE that operates in neither the BL mode nor the CE mode. In the BL mode, the UE may transmit a truncated identifier that is sufficient for the BS to retrieve capability information for the UE prior to transmitting a resource grant to the UE. The BS may then configure the UE and BS to using a radio configuration optimized for the UE's capabilities and transmit the resource grant in accordance with the optimized configuration.

Truncated identification indicators for early user equipment (UE) capability retrieval

A method for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, multicast data via a multicast channel. The method also includes transmitting, to the base station, multicast feedback based on receiving the multicast data. In some examples, the multicast feedback is associated with a group of UEs including the UE. The method further includes receiving, from the base station, a re-transmission of the multicast data on the multicast channel or a unicast channel based on one or more of a number of UEs served by the base station, a number of UEs from the group of UEs providing the multicast feedback, or a radio channel condition.

Multicast radio bearer (MRB) with radio link control (RLC) re-transmission

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a group discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The UE may receive, based on the group DRX configuration, a notification communication indicative of group handover information associated with a group of UEs that includes the UE. The UE may perform, based on the group handover information, a group handover operation between a source cell and a target cell. Numerous other aspects are described.

Group handover configurations

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, control signaling that indicates one or more parameters pertaining to reception of paging early indications (PEIs). The UE may receive a PEI from the base station in accordance with the one or more parameters. The UE may determine, based on the PEI, whether the UE is scheduled to receive a multicast paging message from the base station in a subsequent paging occasion (PO). If the UE is scheduled to receive a multicast paging message, the UE may monitor for the multicast paging message in the subsequent PO. Otherwise, the UE may enter a low-power state during the subsequent PO, which may result in greater power savings at the UE. Aspects of the present disclosure may provide for improved multicast paging operations between the UE and the base station.

Paging early indication for multicast group notification

In a communication between a user equipment (UE) and a network node, the UE may receive a grant of uplink (UL) shared channel (SCH) resources from the network node. Each of the UL SCH resources may be associated with one of a plurality of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes. Each HARQ process may be at least one of a plurality of HARQ process types, and each HARQ process type may be based on HARQ feedback status and HARQ retransmission status. The UE may transmit a control message on one or more UL SCH resources in response to the one or more UL SCH resources being determined to be usable based on the HARQ process type of the HARQ processes associated with the one or more of the UL SCH resources.

Hybrid automatic repeat request feedback in network

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment concurrently communicates with a source base station (BS) and a target BS on a connection with the source BS and a connection with the target BS as part of a make-before-break (MBB) handover procedure; and performs a common packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) function for the connection with the source BS and the connection with the target BS before the connection with the source BS is released as part of the MBB handover procedure. Enhanced make-before-break handover

Aspects described herein relate to communicating with one or more cells for receiving a multicast and/or broadcast service (MBS), and providing MBS continuity in device mobility scenarios. In an aspect, one or more cells for reselection from a current cell can be detected, where the current cell supports a UE interested MBS. The one or more cells can be evaluated for reselection based at least in part on whether the one or more cells support the UE interested MBS to determine a target cell for reselection. Cell reselection can be performed to the target cell.

Techniques for maintaining multicast and/or broadcast service wireless communications

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating that the UE is to execute a make-before-break handover procedure. The UE may transmit, during the make-before-break handover procedure and based at least in part on a prioritization rule, a first uplink communication to a target base station. The prioritization rule may indicate a relative priority for different uplink communications included in a group of uplink communications. The group of uplink communications may include at least the first uplink communication to be transmitted by the UE to the target base station and a second uplink communication to be transmitted by the UE to a source base station during the make-before-break handover procedure. Time-division multiplexing of uplink communications during make-before-break handover

Aspects described herein relate to communicating with one or more cells for receiving a broadcast service, and providing broadcast service continuity in device mobility scenarios. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) can transmit a broadcast service interest indication to a serving cell to facilitate receiving the broadcast service during mobility to provide the broadcast service continuity.
