Aspects of the disclosure assist users with creative development of advertisements by converting successful advertisements into templates for use in the creation of new advertisements. The system and method suggest an advertisement to a user based on the type of content for which the user is advertising. For example, an advertisement may include a set of display criteria, and a set of creative content. The display criteria define a set of circumstances during which the advertisement may be displayed (e.g., a set of keywords that trigger the display of the advertisement). Advertisements that are particularly successful for a given set of display criteria are depersonalized and converted to templates. These templates may be provided during creation of new advertisements as suggested content.

Example processes for determining a match type include: receiving a query token from a content provider; consulting a database stored in memory to determine past performance of the query token for associated content, where the past performance includes performance information indicating how well the query token performed for different match types, where a match type indicates a way that components of the query token match components of another query token in order to achieve a token match; determining, based on the performance information, differences in performance between ones of the different match types; comparing the differences in performance to a threshold; and selecting a match type for the query token based on the comparing.

Methods and apparatus for ranking suggestions for input of a user based on one or more attributes of the user that are associated with one or more of the suggestions. Some implementations are directed to determining, for each of a plurality of suggestions, multiple user attributes and associated bias measures to associate with the suggestion.

A network access server (NAS) determines the status of availability (e.g., how much more quota is unused) of an access resource, and sends a notification embedded in a point-to-point protocol (PPP) packet. Some implementations are directed to determining, for each of a plurality of documents, multiple user attributes and associated bias measures to associate with the document. A user attribute and associated bias measure for the document may be determined based on indicated interactions with the document by a set of users associated with the user attribute.

The system and method includes identifying a plurality of websites describing a product or service, analyzing content in the plurality of websites, the content relating to the described product or service, identifying contrarian terms based on the website content using a processing circuit, wherein the contrarian terms comprise descriptions of a product or service, associating the identified contrarian terms with a category, within which the product or service has been categorized in at least one of the plurality of websites, and storing the contrarian terms and the associated category in a memory.

A method for managing network access is provided that includes receiving a signal indicating a change in a network parameter, the change reflecting that an end user associated with a communication session has changed from using a first network node to a second network node. Each of the network nodes is operable to facilitate the communication session associated with the end user. The method also includes communicating with a billing system element to notify the billing system element of the change in the network parameter and receiving quota information for the end user associated with the second network node. The billing information associated with the second network node may be applied to the communication session, the billing information being based on the quota information.

An information service provider network includes a content gateway to process requests for information from a client terminal. The content gateway includes a router for receiving a request for information from the client terminal. The request includes a domain name and additional content. The router forwards the request according to the domain name to a selected one of a plurality of processors to further process the request. A network () includes a load balancer () that passes traffic between a client () and a gateway (). For initial messages from a client (), the load balancer () selects an appropriate gateway () for message processing. A session is then established between the client () and the appropriate gateway (). The session is indicated by a session identifier. At any point, the client () may choose to suspend the session for later resumption. Upon suspension, the load balancer () keeps track of the session identifier and the appropriate gateway () associated with the session. Upon a resumption request from the client (), the load balancer () determines which of the gateways () is associated with the resumption request according to the session identifier. In this manner, the client may continue a session with the same gateway () for seamless operation.
