The present disclosure relates to a catalyst composition comprising: (a) nickel; (b) at least one promoter selected from Cu Zn, Mo, Co, Mg, Ce, Ti, Zr, Fe, Pd, Ag, Pt, or combinations thereof; and (c) a support material, wherein, the nickel loading is in the range of 6-19 wt % and the at least one promoter loading is in the range of 0.2-5 wt % with respect to the support material. The present disclosure further discloses a process for preparing a catalyst composition and a process each for the production of hydrogen gas and carbon nanotubes. Also disclosed herein, is use of a catalyst composition for obtaining hydrogen gas and carbon nanotubes.

Catalyst composition for the production of hydrogen

The present disclosure discloses a catalyst composition comprising: (a) at least one steamed biochar; and (b) at least one tri-metallic catalyst, comprising metals selected from the group consisting of nickel, copper, zinc, and combinations thereof, wherein nickel loading is in the range of 20-60 wt %, the copper loading is in the range of 0.5-5.0 wt %, and the zinc loading is in the range of 0.5-5.0 wt with respect to the at least one steamed biochar. The instant disclosure further relates to a process of preparation of the catalyst composition and a process for production of hydrogen gas and carbon nanotubes.

Catalyst composition and its applications thereof

A gas-solid contacting system () with structured packing () is disclosed. The structured packing () comprises a gas header () with an inlet to receive a gas. A plurality of vertically aligned tubes () is fluidically connected to the gas header (), wherein each vertically aligned tube () comprises openings () to distribute the gas at different heights in a radial direction. A structured packing element () is arranged on each vertically aligned tube (), wherein the structured packing element () comprises one or more plates attached to the vertically aligned tube () to create a convoluted 3-dimensional flow path for smooth flow and radial distribution of a solid particulate stream.

A system for generating mechanical power using super critical carbon dioxide (sCO) is disclosed. The system includes at least one expansion cylinder () housing a first piston () and at least one compression cylinder () housing a second piston (). A first heat exchanger (C) is fluidically connected to the compression cylinder () and the expansion cylinder (), and a second heat exchanger (H) is fluidically connected to the compression cylinder () and the expansion cylinder (). The first heat exchanger (C) cools the COreceived from the expansion cylinder (), and the compression cylinder () pressurizes the COcooled by the first heat exchanger (C). The second heat exchanger (H) heats the COfrom the compression cylinder () and supplies to the expansion cylinder (). The high temperature and high-pressure COdrives the first piston () housed inside the expansion cylinder () to generate mechanical energy.

System and a method for generating mechanical power using super critical carbon dioxide

The present subject matter relates to co-producing H-CNG and CNTs. The process comprises adding catalyst to a first reactor () and activating the catalyst and performing a reaction to obtain H-CNG and CNTs. At a first predetermined time after reaction has progressed in the first reactor (), catalyst is added to a second reactor (), activated, and then the reaction proceeds simultaneously in the first reactor () and second reactor (). The use of multiple reactors with staggered start times helps in the continuous co-production of H-CNG and CNTs. Catalyst preparation process is integrated with the co-production process for efficient heat recovery. The first and second reactors are fluidized bed reactors with cantilever trays having weirs for controlling the residence time of the catalyst in the reactor and thereby controlling the purity of CNTs produced.

Co-production of hydrogen-enriched compressed natural gas and carbon nanotubes

The present disclosure relates to an engine () including a cylinder () that is filled with carbon dioxide. A first piston () is slidably configured inside the cylinder () and being configured to form a first cylinder () with a first end () of the cylinder (). A second piston () is slidably configured inside the cylinder () and being configured to form a second cylinder () with a second end () of the cylinder (). A heater () is circumferentially disposed around the first cylinder () and the first piston () is configured to expand a hot carbon dioxide received inside the first cylinder () from the heater (). A cooler () is circumferentially disposed around the second cylinder () and second piston () is configured to compress a cold carbon dioxide received inside the second cylinder () from the cooler ().
