A method is disclosed—for a wireless communication device served by a network access node—of keeping a time reference at the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device is configured for operation according to at least first and second operational modes, the second operational mode having lower power consumption than the first operational mode. The method comprises (during operation according to the first operational mode) determining (for the second operational mode) desired timings of timing signals to be transmitted from the network access node, and transmitting a request signal to the network access node, wherein the request signal carries information of the desired timings of timing signals to be transmitted from the network access node. In some embodiments, the method further comprises receiving a response signal from the network access node, wherein the response signal carries information of actual timings of timing signals to be transmitted from the network access node. Corresponding method for a network access node, apparatuses, wireless communication device, network access node and computer program product are also disclosed.

Keeping a time reference

Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) to perform different operations based on detection of wake-up signal (WUS) transmissions from a network node in a radio access network (RAN). Such methods include determining whether a WUS transmission, from the network node, is detected during a particular WUS monitoring occasion (WMO). Such methods also include, based on determining that the WUS is detected during the particular WMO, performing one or more first operations during a first time period associated with the particular WMO; and based on determining that the WUS is not detected during the particular WMO, performing one or more second operations during a second time period. Various first and second operations can be performed, with the first and second operations differing in some manner. The first and second time periods can be the same or different. Embodiments also include complementary methods performed by a network node.

Wake-up signal (WUS) controlled actions

A method, system, network node and wireless device are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, A network node configured to communicate with a wireless device is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to: determine a short DRX configuration based at least on a delay value constraint associated with the wireless device, and transmit an indication of the short DRX configuration and a long DRX configuration where the short DRX configuration corresponds to a shorter cycle length than a cycle length of the long DRX configuration.

Adaptation of active-time PDCCH monitoring using short discontinuous reception (DRX)

A system, network node and wireless device a provided. The wireless device receives, during an active time, downlink control information, DCI, having a predefined DCI format from the network node. The predefined DCI format includes at least one bit indicating that the DCI includes a go-to-sleep, GTS, indication. Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for communication with a network node in a radio access network (RAN). Such methods include receiving, from the network node, an indication that a minimum scheduling offset, between a scheduling physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and a signal or channel scheduled via the scheduling PDCCH, will change after a first duration. Such methods also include subsequently monitoring, during the first duration, for a scheduling PDCCH based on a first operating configuration; and in response to the end of the first duration, monitoring for a scheduling PDCCH based on a second operating configuration. The first duration can be related to time required, by the UE, to switch from the first to the second operating configuration. Embodiments also include UEs configured to perform such methods.

Selective cross-slot scheduling for NR user equipment

A technique of selectively transmitting a skip signal indicative of skipping a downlink control channel from an access node () to a radio device () is provided. As to a method aspect, a method () of selectively transmitting a skip signal indicative of skipping a downlink control channel comprises or initiates determining (), for the radio device (), whether a criterion for at least one of skipping the downlink control channel and transmitting the skip signal indicative of skipping the downlink control channel is fulfilled. Antenna selection for user equipment (UE) power saving during PDCCH monitoring

A broadcast signal transmission occurs concurrently with device-specific, directional transmissions but without substantially interfering with the directional transmissions, based on transmitting the broadcast signal in the null spaces of the directional transmissions. Specifically, transmission of the broadcast signal relies on beamforming precoder values formed from one or more orthonormal basis vectors for the null space of a channel estimate matrix representing the channels between a multi-element antenna array and the wireless devices targeted by the device-specific transmissions. The approach concentrates most of the broadcast signal energy for each subcarrier on a single antenna element for good broadcast-signal coverage while still yielding a beamforming solution that substantially avoids broadcast-signal interference at the devices targeted for directional transmission.

Methods and apparatus for signal transmission and reception in a wireless communication network

There is disclosed a method of operating a radio node in a wireless communication network. The method includes transmitting pulse-shaped signaling based on a pulse-shaped waveform using a transmission power, the transmission power being based on an Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) parametrisation for pulse-shaped signaling.
