In the drilling of oil and gas wells, some fluid isolation valves may be stuck in a closed position and may need to be milled out. Provided are methods and systems to dissipate heat and remove cuttings and shavings generated during milling of these fluid isolation barrier. The methods may include conveying a milling tool into a borehole, wherein the milling tool comprises a motor, a gear box coupled to the motor; a pump coupled to the gear box, and a mill bit coupled to the pump, milling a fluid isolation barrier positioned in the borehole using the milling tool, wherein heat is generated at the mill bit and by the motor during the milling of the fluid isolation barrier, and removing at least a portion of the heat by pumping fluid past the motor and the mill bit using the pump.

A method and system for removing a filter cover. A system and method may comprise a downhole fluid sampling tool including a tool body; a flow port disposed on the tool body; a sample chamber disposed within the tool body and fluidly coupled to the flow port; a pump disposed within the tool body. In examples, the pump is configured to pump a fluid through the flow port into the sample chamber; a filter disposed on an inlet of the flow port, wherein the filter is configured to filter the fluid entering the flow port; and a removable filter cover configured to prevent fluid contact with the filter.

Protection of a wellbore tool using fluid medium dependent material

A method comprises flowing a mud into a wellbore, wherein the mud has a mud composition and has a weight in a defined range. The method includes introducing a fluid pill into the mud flowing into the wellbore, wherein the fluid pill has an injection fluid with an injection composition that is different from the mud composition. A particulate has been added to the injection fluid to increase the weight of the fluid pill. After flowing the mud into the wellbore such that the fluid pill is positioned in a zone of the wellbore: filtering out the particulate from the injection fluid; injecting, after the filtering, the injection fluid into the zone; measuring a downhole parameter that changes in response to injecting the injection fluid into the zone; and determining a property of the formation of the zone based on the measured downhole parameter.

Reverse drill stem testing

A dump bailer includes a bailer body defining an interior space for conveying cement slurry downhole. A dump release mechanism is operatively connected to the bailer body for releasing cement slurry from the interior space. An agitator is operatively connected to the bailer body for agitating cement slurry in the interior space. In general, in another aspect, the disclosed embodiments relate to a method of delivering cement slurry to a downhole position in a well bore. The method includes a running a bailer downhole in a well bore, wherein cement slurry is housed within the bailer. The method includes agitating the cement slurry within the bailer and releasing the cement slurry from the bailer into the well bore.

Dump bailers

A high expansion bridge plug comprising an elastomer element assembly and a control assembly for generating a compressive force against the elastomer element assembly. The elastomer element assembly comprises a first element stack and a second element stack with the first element stack comprising a first grouping of male and female elements and the second element stack comprising a second grouping of male and female elements. The compressive force generated causes the male element and the female element to expand and the female element to at least partially swallow the male element. The male and female elements can be conical shape, and an angle of a conical element can be between 5-25 degrees, and the length of the top female element is greater than the length of the middle or bottom male element.
