Described herein is a system and remote server that may enable a user device to gain access to a secure physical area or physical resource. The remote server may generate, store, and send a first access token to a user device in response to a request to access the physical area or physical resource. The remote server can receive an authentication request from a universal access control device at the location of the physical area or physical resource. The authentication request can contain a second access token and location information of the user device. The remote server can verify the second access token by comparing it to the stored first access token and location information about the access control device. Upon authentication and verification, the user device may gain entry to the secure area.

Time-bound secure access

An access control device is described. The access control device may store a credential in the memory of the access control device. The access control device may receive an access token from a user device via a wireless receiver. The access token may be different from the credential. The access device may verify the authenticity of the access token by sending the access token information to a server. The access control device may receive an indication from the server that the token is valid. The access control device may send the credential to a reader device of the access control system managing access to a physical secure area.

Universal access control device

Described herein is a system for controlling access to a physical location. In some embodiments, a user device may provide user credentials to an input device of the access system. The input device may transmit the user credentials to a splitter, in some examples, permit access to the physical location via an access control board. In other examples, the input device may transmit the user credentials from a splitter to a network-connected gateway and then permit access to the physical location via the access control board. In either example, the power and signal wires may be reused for the splitter and/or network-connected gateway. The access control board may be coupled with an electrically-controlled device and configured to allow access to the physical location with one or more electronic signals to the electrically-controlled device. The electrically-controlled device may allow access when the user credentials are authenticated by the system.

Integrated access control system

Described herein is a system and universal access control device that may be installed in proximity to, or within, an access control system to enable a user to use a user device to gain access to a secure area or resource. In some embodiments, a user may submit a request for access to a remote server and may be provided with an access token. The user may relay the received access token to the universal access device via a wireless transmission means on his or her user device. The universal access device may verify the authenticity of the access token by relaying the access token information to the remote server. Once the access token has been authenticated, the universal access control device may retrieve a credential stored in memory and provide that credential to the access control system to enable the user to gain entry to a secure area.

Described herein is a system and universal access control device that may enable a user device to gain access to a secure area or resource during a particular time duration. In some embodiments, a user device may relay a received access token to the universal access device via a wireless transmission at a particular time. The universal access device may verify the authenticity of the access token by relaying the access token information to the remote server, which may authenticate the user device and verify that the user device is permitted access at the particular time. Upon authentication and verification, the user may gain entry to the secure area.
