Methods and apparatus to manage workload domains in virtual server racks are disclosed. An example apparatus includes processor circuitry to, in response to detecting that a number of available physical racks satisfies a threshold number of physical racks, apply a first resource allocation technique by reserving requested resources by exhausting first available resources of a first physical rack before using second available resources of a second physical rack; in response to detecting that the number of available physical racks does not satisfy the threshold number of physical racks, apply a second resource allocation technique by reserving the requested resources using a portion of the first available resources without exhausting the first available resources and using a portion of the second available resources without exhausting the second available resources; and execute one or more workload domains associated with a number of requested resources.

Methods and apparatus to manage workload domains in virtual server racks

Disclosed are various examples for top-of-rack (TOR) switch replacement in hyper-converged computing environments. A bring-up network configuration is applied to a network switch to install the network switch in a rack. An active workload within the rack is analyzed to identify a workload network configuration for the active workload. The active workload is reassigned to the network switch from a faulty network switch. The network switch is configured based on the workload network configuration for the active workload.

Methods and apparatus to manage workload domains in virtual server racks are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a policy enforcer to evaluate whether capacities of the plurality of workload domains comply with policy capacity levels of respective user-defined policies for the plurality of workload domains, and a resource manager to, when a first workload domain has a first quantify of resources that exceeds a first policy capacity level of a first user-defined policy, identify a second workload domain requesting a second quantity of resources, when the second quantity of resources is equal to the first quantity of resources, allocate the first quantity of resources from the first workload domain to the second workload domain to satisfy the first policy capacity level, when the second quantity of resources is less than the first quantity of resources, allocate the second quantity of resources from the first workload domain to the second workload domain, and de-allocate remaining resources from the first workload domain to a shared resource pool to satisfy the first policy capacity level.

Methods and apparatus to perform a workflow in a software defined data center are disclosed herein. An example software defined data center includes a first workflow engine associated with a first processor to execute a workflow and to generate status information identifying the status of tasks included in the workflow and further includes a status tracker associated with a second processor. The status tracker collects and stores the status information. Additionally, the software defined data center includes a monitor to generate a signal when the first processor is no longer operational, and a second workflow engine associated with a third processor. The second workflow engine begins executing the workflow in response to the signal from the monitor based on status information collected and stored by the status tracker.

Methods, systems and apparatus to perform a workflow in a software defined data center

Disclosed are various examples for top-of-rack (TOR) switch replacement in hyper-converged computing environments. A hyper-converged management service can maintain network configurations applied to a first network switch of a rack. When the performance of the first network switch does not satisfy a performance threshold, the hyper-converged management service can decommission the first network switch in the rack and configure a second network switch for replacement of the first network switch in the rack by accessing the at least one network configuration applied to the first network switch from the memory and applying the at least one network configuration to the second network switch.
