A device and method for registering devices on advanced networks as well as providing operative communications between a legacy device and a advanced network. The legacy device may contain data, such as sensor data, which is being collected on a network outside the communication range/abilities of the legacy device. An intermediary device may receive the data via a first communication scheme and send the device to a server collecting the data via a second communication scheme.

A system and method are described that provide user-controlled Quality of Experience (QoE) in a network of resources. QoE or service parameter profiles of an SDN-NPV network are mapped to options for user selection using a QoE selector knob. The user selects the desired QoE or service parameter profile from the available options and the SDN-NPV network configuration is implemented that corresponds to the desired QoE or service parameter profile.

System and method for fine grained service management using SDN-NFV networks

A method and apparatus for power control for distributed wireless communication is disclosed including one or more power control loops associated with a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). Each power control loop may include open loop power control or closed loop power control. A multi-phase power control method is also disclosed with each phase representing a different time interval and a WTRU sends transmissions at different power levels to different set of node-Bs or relay stations during different phases to optimize communications.

Uplink power control for distributed wireless communication

Devices, computer-readable media, and methods are disclosed for establishing a secure tunnel having a path that includes an untrusted link between a wireless access point and a gateway device. For example, a processor may detect a security event associated with a wireless access point that is in communication with a gateway device of the telecommunication network via a trusted link, establish a secure tunnel between the gateway device and an endpoint device that is accessing the telecommunication network via the wireless access point and the gateway device, and transport payload traffic between the endpoint device and the gateway device via the secure tunnel. A path of the secure tunnel may include an untrusted link between the wireless access point and the gateway device. In addition, the payload traffic that is transported via the secure tunnel may be indecipherable by the wireless access point.

Methods and apparatus are described. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) includes a transceiver and a processor operatively coupled to the transceiver. The transceiver and the processor establish a connection with a first wireless network node and a second wireless network node. The transceiver and the processor also receive power configurations and timing advances from the first wireless network node independently of the second wireless network node. The transceiver and the processor also simultaneously receive downlink signals from both the first wireless network node and the second wireless network node. The downlink signals are independently scheduled by a scheduler of the first wireless network node and a scheduler of the second wireless network node.

Systems and methods for providing multiple connections or interfaces at the same time may be disclosed herein. Methods and apparatus for communicating with the Internet via a gateway are disclosed. The gateway may be a Radio Access Network (RAN) gateway. The gateway may communicate data with at least one user equipment (UE). The gateway may route the data via one or more interfaces. The data may be routed by bypassing a core network.

Methods and wireless devices are described. A method includes a wireless device transmitting to wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) by being scheduled by the base station or using a pool of radio resources, which is for any of a plurality of wireless devices to use for transmission to WTRUs. On a condition that the wireless device is to be scheduled by the base station, the wireless device receives scheduling information for transmission to a WTRU having a group radio network terminal identifier (RNTI) and transmits to the WTRU in response to the received scheduling information. The scheduling information for transmission to the base station uses a different RNTI. On a condition that the wireless device is to use the pool of radio resources for transmission to a WTRU, the wireless device transmits to the WTRU without being scheduled by the base station using the pool of radio resources.

Techniques for supporting utilization of femtocell service capabilities for services are disclosed. A network device may be configured to implement a femto services gateway. The femto services gateway may reside in a femtocell and provide application programming interfaces (APIs) to services to enable applications implementing the services to make use of functionalities of femtocell service capabilities. The APIs may be a subset of or an extended set of Open Service Access Parlay or Parlay-X APIs. The services may be either femtocell-hosted, mobile network operator core network-hosted, or Internet-hosted. The femtocell service capabilities may include a framework service capability feature (SCF), a call control SCF, a user interaction SCF, a mobility SCF, a terminal capability SCF, a data session control SCF, a connectivity manager SCF, an account management SCF, a charging management SCF, a policy management SCF, a presence and availability management SCF, or a multimedia messaging SCF.
