A conveyor is described comprising an endless side-flexing conveyor belt made from a number of rows of hinged interconnected belt links, where each row comprises at least one link, where each link has a front end, a back end, a top surface, a bottom surface and two sides, where hinge parts separated by apertures are arranged along the front end and the back end such that front hinge parts on the front end will fit inside apertures on the back end of an adjacent belt link, and where the front end and back end are substantially parallel to a first axis parallel to the width direction of the link, wherein the hinge parts of each link are defined by a top and bottom that are substantially flush with the top and bottom surfaces respectively, and two side surfaces and a free front surface, and that at least some of the front hinge parts are provided with a protrusion on one or both side surfaces, where these protrusions fit inside elongated apertures provided in the side surfaces of the rear hinge parts on the opposite end of the links; and further that the portions of the protrusions and/or of the elongated apertures that engage each other during use of the belt are arranged such that the they are parallel to different axes depending upon whether they are closer to the middle or one of the two ends so that there will be multiple points of contact between adjacent links even when the belt is side-flexing around a curve.

Side-flexing conveyor belt

An endless side-flexing conveyor is described comprising a conveyor belt made from a number of rows of hinged interconnected belt links, where each row comprises at least one link, where each link has a front end, a back end, a top surface, a bottom surface and two sides, where hinge parts separated by apertures are arranged along the front end and the back end such that front hinge parts on the front end will fit inside apertures on the back end of an adjacent belt link, and where the front end and back end are substantially parallel to a first axis parallel to the width direction of the link, wherein the hinge parts of each link are defined by a top and bottom which are substantially flush with the top and bottom surfaces respectively, and two side surfaces and a free front surface, and that the front hinge parts on one end of each link are provided with a protrusion on each side surface, where the protrusions fit inside elongated apertures provided in the side surfaces of the rear hinge parts on the opposite end of the link; and further that the protrusions on more than one of the front hinge parts arranged centrally on the link are arranged on an axis parallel to the first axis, and that at least the protrusions on one or more of the outermost front hinge parts on one side of each link are arranged parallel to an axis angled +x&#xb0; in relation to the first axis and that one or more protrusions on the opposite side of each link are arranged parallel to an axis angled &#x2212;x&#xb0; in relation to the first axis.

A conveyor comprising an endless conveyor belt made from a plurality of rows of hinged interconnected belt links where each row extends in a width direction substantially perpendicular to a traveling direction of the belt and comprises at least one link, where substantially all links further comprise a front end, a back end, a top surface, a bottom surface, a pair of opposing side surfaces, front hinge parts and rear hinge parts for a pin-less connection, at least one roller aperture provided through the thickness of the link, the at least one roller aperture comprising at least one axle receiving, guiding, and retaining means, such that an axle may be arranged substantially parallel to the top surface, and a roller arranged coaxially with the axle.

Conveyor belt link incorporating one or more rollers

The invention provided a conveyor belt, which is special in that the belt in a direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the belt is made from one single chain link, and that the transport top surface comprises a wide main portion and the top part of the eye projections which are flush with the main portion, such that the belt surface is substantially without apertures and/or openings and further that the hinge-like assembly arrangement is fully accessible only from the underside of the belt. By this inventive chain link is achieved that the narrow gaps between each assembled chain link in the prior art is not present such that from a hygienic point of view it becomes much easier to clean the entire conveyor belt satisfactory in that for each chain link, which usually constitutes 40-60 mm of the total length of the conveyor belt, which altogether, especially for deboning lines, might be 300-400 meter long, no gaps are present. This in turn gives the added security that the multitude of gaps, sometimes more than 30,000 gaps, does not have to be cleaned. This gives rise to a substantial increase in the confidence that a satisfactory cleaning process complying with the high hygienic standards in the meat producing business can be achieved.

The invention provided for a conveyor belt wherein chain links are assembled such that eye parts are inserted into the intervals between two eye parts in the opposite chain link, whereafter the transverse rod according to the invention is inserted from one side of the conveyor belt through the overlapping openings in both chain links. When the notches provided on the transverse rod adjacent the head portion come into contact with the end face of the chain link, i.e. the side of the chain link, the notches can be brought into engagement with slits provided in the outmost chain link by twisting the head portion and pushing it into the end portion of the chain link. When the notches are engaged in the slits the transverse rod is fixated such that it will not move sideward in relation to the longitudinal direction of the conveyor belt.

Locking arrangement for releasably locking a transverse rod to a chain link

A feed apparatus ( ) comprising a conveyor belt ( ), the conveyor belt ( ) comprising modules ( ) with an upper ( ) and a lower ( ) surface, the modules ( ) comprising hinge eyes ( ) pivotally hinged to each other perpendicular to the feed direction. The feed apparatus ( ) comprises at least one rotatable and toothed driving wheel ( ) meshed with the conveyor belt ( ), with the pressure receiving surface ( ) of the teeth wholly or partially in contact against at least the outer surface ( ) of its own hinge eye ( ). Therefore an optimum force transmission to the belt itself is achieved, which occurs through the teeth of the sprocket wheel applying driving force at the hinge eyes, thus making the force transmission occur close to the center line of the axis of the hinge eyes. There is a good lateral steering of the belt, so that the risk that the belt hops off the toothed wheel is minimized.

The front surface (,) and the rear surface (,) of the carrier each comprise at least one pin (,) extending from the side edges, a first surface (,) of said pins (,) facing towards the surface from which they extend and being flat parallel with this surface, and where the distance of the first surface (,) of the pins (,) to the middle/center plane (,) of the carrier (,) is at a maximum twice the distance between the middle/center plane of the carrier and the surface from which the pin (,) extends. The carriers lock tightly against each other, so that these withstand even great and uneven loads in such a manner that in certain areas greater weight and lesser weight can be applied to the carriers without this causing the carriers to separate from each other, and thus give rise to the possibility for the material which is to be conveyed to escape between possible cracks.

Modular unit for the fabrication of conveyors

A conveyor belt (,) is composed of a number of identical links in the formation of an endless belt, where each link comprises at least one axle (,) arranged transversely in relation to the direction of travel (,), and an outer link (,) at each side in engagement with the axle. Each outer link comprises an elongated hole for the adjacent link's axle, so that the belt can be driven in a curve in the plane of the belt. Each outer link has at least one securing hole for a transverse axle, where the coupling-together between the axle (,and the outer link (,) is effected by a separable snap-lock. The outer link is moulded as a one-piece unit in a suitable plastic material, preferably by injection moulding. The outer links (,) can also be configured in a larger version for the construction of conveyor belts for operation in self-stacking helical systems.

Transport band for conveying along a spiral path

A chain link conveyor comprising a plurality of identical plastic chain links having eye-shaped hinge parts on opposite side edges, with the eye-shaped hinge parts being arranged so as to enable the neighboring chain links to be coupled by a pin or axle. The eye-shaped hinge parts on the opposite sides of each chain link are mutually displaced and the opposite hinge parts in each chain link are integral with each other by ribs or connecting parts. Transverse parts are integral with the ribs or connecting parts, with at least some of the transverse parts being arranged so as to engage the driving wheels of the chain link conveyor. Each chain link is configured as a fine-meshed grate structure including surface or surface like parts substantially perpendicular to the top and bottom surface of the chain link. An edge constituting the top and bottom surface of the surfaces or surface-like parts have a decreasing thickness and end in edges having a slight thickness.

Chain link conveyor

A chain-link conveyor comprising a plurality of chain links hinged together by transversely extending hinge pins disposed in traction eyes. A top plate of each chain link is provided with fingers and recesses disposed between the respective fingers at both a front edge and a rear edge, as viewed in a direction of movement of the conveyor. The fingers are staggered with respect to each other so that the fingers and recesses on adjacent links are adapted to engage with each other. An additional finger is disposed substantially centrally of the chain link in the front edge, as viewed in the direction of movement of the conveyor and the corresponding central recess is provided in the rear edge of an adjacent link. The chain links may be injected moulded plastic links or links blanked from sheet metal.

Chain-link conveyor

A chain link conveyor formed of a number of identical plastic chain links with a number of eye-shaped hinge parts being provided in the edge of opposite sides of the individual chain links. The hinge parts are arranged so as to be coupled together with corresponding hinge parts in adjacent chain links by a common pin or pivot. On the underside, between the hinge parts, ribs extend in the conveying direction of the chain link conveyor. The ribs on the underside are configured with transverse openings or grooves so that a vacuum can distribute itself over the entire underside of the chain link when the chain link is used as a chain link vacuum conveyor.
