Stable aqueous poly(urea/urethane) polymers and dispersions are made that do not require the inclusion of chain extenders, curing agents or crosslinking agents. The disclosed poly(urea/urethane) dispersions can be used to make articles such as films and gloves with reduced chance of chemical and biological allergic reaction to skin, and which exhibit improved puncture and tear resistance when compared to such articles made with other materials.

Articles comprising aqueous dispersions of polyureaurethanes

Polyurethane particles dispersed in water can be used to make articles of commerce with reduced chance of chemical and biological allergic reaction to skin, and which exhibit improved puncture and tear resistance when compared to gloves made with other materials.

A knitted fabric, such as present in a glove, provides cut resistance, wicking of moisture and thermo regulating properties. The fabric is made with at least one bundle of at least one yarn wherein the yarn comprises at least two strands: at least one of the strands in the bundle having a sheath/core construction with a sheath of cut resistant staple fibers and a metal fiber core; and at least one of the strands in the bundle having cut resistant aramid fibers and being free from metal fibers.

Cut resistant, wicking and thermoregulating fabric and articles made therefrom

The visual appearance of undyed or unpigmented para-aramid fabric generally present in an article of clothing is restored by contacting the fabric with an aqueous dye solution or dispersion to dye the aramid fibrils present on the yarns. Use of a conventional washing machine is suitable in the fabric contact with the dye.
