Seamless client roaming for Multi-Link Device (MLD) clients may be provided. First, a Traffic Identifier (TID)-to-link map may be established by an Upper Service Access Point (U-SAP) of a multi-AP MLD entity that assigns subsets of TIDs to at least two links of the entity. For example, a client device logically associates with the U-SAP, while the client device physically connects to a first and second AP of the entity on a respective first and second link, where the first and second AP include first and second Lower Service Access Points (L-SAPs) and are non-collocated. Next, using the map, data received at the U-SAP is directed over one of the two links for transmission to the client device. Further, frame aggregation and block acknowledgment functions may be performed by one of the first or second L-SAP based on whether data transmission is over the first or second link.

Multi-link operation with localized performance of B-ACK functions

Application-based Transmission Opportunity (TXOP) sharing may be provided. First, a sharing AP may receive a request to share TXOPs with a requesting AP. The request may include information associated with an application executing on a client serviced by the requesting AP. Next, a TXOP duration for the requesting AP may be reserved based on the information associated with the application such that, in response to winning contention on the medium, the sharing AP may share a TXOP with the requesting AP for the TXOP duration.

Application-based transmission opportunity sharing

Dynamic channel assignment for 6 GHz radios may be provided. Whether an access point in a network is classified as low power indoor only (LPI only), standard power optional (SP optional), or standard power mandatory (SP mandatory) is determined. The total number of access points in the network and the number of access points classified as SP optional or SP mandatory is determined. If the number of SP optional and SP mandatory access points is more than a determined proportion of the total number of access points, for SP optional and SP mandatory access points, channels having a frequency below a determined power spectral frequency are cut off.

Adaptive channel assignment for 6GHZ radios

A method to operate a multi-link wireless device. The method includes establishing at least a first multi-link device interface and a second multi-link device interface, exposing, via a virtual data port, the first multi-link device interface and the second multi-link device interface at a data processing layer of the wireless device, selecting one of the first multi-link device interface and the second multi-link device interface, as a selected multi-link device interface, based on performance information associated with a first radio and a second radio associated, respectively, with the first multi-link device interface and the second multi-link device interface, and wirelessly transmitting a packet from the wireless device by routing the packet through the selected multi-link device interface.

Next, a Request To Send (RTS) may be sent to the client device. In response to sending the RTS to the client device, a Clear To Send (CTS) may be received from the client device. In response to receiving the CTS, data may be sent to the client device.

Dynamic spectrum access mode based on station capabilities is provided by categorizing functionalities of Access Points (APs) and stations (STA) in a wireless network; identifying interference induced by external signaling devices on channels in the wireless network; calculating an impact factor of the interference based on proximity of the external signaling devices to the wireless network, a pattern of the external signaling devices, and an extent of overlap with frequencies used by the external signaling devices and the wireless network; and in response to identifying a given STA that is paired with a given AP in the wireless network, wherein the given STA and the given AP are both categorized as being capable of both multilink communications and preamble puncturing, assigning network resources for the given STA to communicate with the given AP via one of multilink communications or preamble puncturing based on the impact factor of the interference.

Dynamic spectrum access mode based on station capabilities

Embodiments herein describe techniques for performing dynamic channel assignment for MLD stations using MLD distributions associated with access points (APs). The embodiments herein include techniques for considering inter-frequency isolation (also referred to as inter-spectrum isolation) as well as intra-frequency contention when assigning channels to MLDs.

Techniques to determine location-related data for a plurality of access points located in an area in communication with a network by determining that a plurality of access points in a network are associated with a same geographical area including identifying, from among the plurality of access points, a first access point associated with the geographical area, determining first location-related data for the first access point, determining second location-related data for a second access point of the plurality of access points, the second access point being interior to the first access point within the network based at least in part on the second access point having at least a threshold number of the neighbor access points, and exchanging ranging data indicative of a first relative distance between the first access point and the second access point, the ranging data based at least in part on ranging message exchange measurements.

Systems and methods for determining locations of access points

A network of access points may be provided. Access points operating in a low power indoor (LPI) mode and access points operating in a standard power (SP or SPI) mode are identified. The access points operating in an SP or SPI mode are sorted by available frequencies and maximum power budget. For each access point in the network, a composite radio frequency (RF) density score is determined, wherein higher density scores correspond to a denser population of access points in the network. If the composite RF density score is above a determined level, the access point that supports frequencies below a threshold level and that have an effective isotropic radiated power (EiRP) above a determined level are determined as a seed candidate. At least one of the seed candidates is determined as a seed access point.

Closed loop transmit power control

Dynamic configuration of Overlapping Basic Set Service Preamble Detect (OBSS/PD) parameters for an Access Point (AP) may be provided. First, a plurality of stations within a Spatial Reuse (SR) range of the AP may be determined. Next, Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) calculations associated with the plurality of stations may be performed to determine an SINR impact on the plurality of stations if the AP performs an SR transmission given OBSS/PD parameters currently configured for the AP. Then, based on the SINR calculations, the OBSS/PD parameters for the AP may be dynamically adjusted.

Dynamic configuration of overlapping basic service set preamble detect (OBSS PD) parameters for access points

An access point in a wireless network communicates wirelessly with one or more client devices over a channel that includes a plurality of subchannels. Radar is detected on a first subchannel of the plurality of subchannels. It is determined to puncture the first subchannel, based on the detecting the radar on the first subchannel and based on one or more puncturing factors. The first subchannel is punctured, the puncturing comprising muting one or more subcarriers on the first subchannel.

Channel selection for dynamic-frequency-selection channels using puncturing

Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) Quality of Service (QoS) in overlapped administrative domains may be provided. A first Access Point (AP) may detect at least a second AP in a Co-Channel Interference (CCI) range. A micro-transaction auction between the first AP and at least the second AP may be established, and the first AP may provide compensation to second AP to acquire an agreement, from the second AP, to forgo transmitting during an upcoming service period. Next, the first AP may schedule transmissions for the service period and then transmit in the service period without interference from the second AP.

Time sensitive networking (TSN) quality of service (QoS) in overlapped administrative domains

Network traffic interference detection and management may be provided. An infringement event by an infringing Access Point (AP) on a Restricted Target Wake Time (rTWT) transmission opportunity (TxOp) associated with a victim AP may be detected, and information associated with the infringement event may be added to an infringement list, wherein the information includes a MAC address associated with the infringing AP. A controller, may receive the infringement list and notify the infringement event to the infringing AP. The infringing AP may determine whether a transmission associated with the infringement event is low latency and high priority. When the transmission is not low latency and high priority the infringing AP may modify future transmissions based on the notification. When the transmission is low latency and high priority the infringing AP may notify the controller that the transmission is low latency and high priority. The controller may then create a negotiation between the victim AP and the infringing AP, wherein the negotiation comprises managing future transmissions of the victim AP and the infringing AP.

Restricted target wait time interference detection and management

A method includes determining whether a first access point of a plurality of access points and a second access point of the plurality of access points should communicate simultaneously over a shared channel in a first network and in response to determining that one of the plurality of access points won contention of a transmission opportunity for the shared channel, dividing the transmission opportunity into a plurality of time slots. The method also includes scheduling transmissions of the first and second access points into the plurality of time slots according to the determination whether the first and second access points should communicate simultaneously over the shared channel and communicating, to the second access point and over a wired network or a second network different from the first network, an indication of whether the second access point should communicate during a first time slot of the plurality of time slots.
