Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a responding device may receive a signal from an initiating device. The responding device may estimate, from the signal, a channel impulse response (CIR) that represents signal reflections from one or more objects as multiple taps. The responding device may select one or more taps, from the multiple taps, that are within a first time window that starts at a first offset from a reference point and that has a first specified time duration. The responding device may transmit, to the initiating device, a CIR report that indicates the one or more taps. Numerous other aspects are described.

Radio frequency sensing with channel impulse response

Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first wireless communication device (WCD) may transmit, to a second wireless communication device, a first synchronization message using a first radio frequency (RF) technology and a first frequency resource, the first synchronization message associated with synchronization for a second RF technology. The first WCD may transmit, to the second WCD and after switching to a second frequency resource, a second synchronization message using the first RF technology, the second synchronization message associated with synchronization for the second RF technology, and the switching to the second frequency resource based at least in part on one or more of: transmission of the second synchronization message being associated with ranging or sensing, or failure of the first synchronization message or failure of a reply, from the second WCD, to the first synchronization message. Narrowband assisted ultrawideband frequency hopping

In some implementations, a current synchronization reference anchor for the group of RF positioning anchors may obtain metric information from each radio frequency (RF) positioning anchor of the group of RF positioning anchors. The current synchronization reference anchor may select the new synchronization reference anchor from the group of RF positioning anchors based at least in part on the metric information.

Distributed time synchronization for time difference of arrival (TDOA) using ultra-wideband (UWB)

In some implementations, a first ultra-wideband (UWB) device may determine a respective time offset for each scrambled timestamp sequence (STS) in a series of STS used for ranging in a UWB ranging session between the first UWB device and the second UWB device, wherein the respective time offset for each STS in the series of STS is determined in accordance with time offset information shared between the first UWB device and the second UWB device. The first UWB device may transmit the series of STS via UWB radio frequency (RF) signals during the UWB ranging session, wherein each STS in the series of STS is transmitted with the respective time offset.

Time offsets in ultra-wideband (UWB) ranging

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless device may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure for a narrowband communication that provides time and frequency synchronization and/or scheduling information for an ultra-wideband (UWB) communication. The wireless device may transmit the narrowband communication in response to the LBT procedure being successful. The wireless device may transmit the UWB communication based at least in part on the time and frequency synchronization and/or scheduling information. Numerous other aspects are described.

Narrowband communication for ultra-wideband communication

In some implementations, a ultra-wideband (UWB) device comprises a Global Anchor for a network of UWB anchors having a plurality of clusters and initiator anchors (Init-Anchors). The Global Anchor may obtain metric information comprising a centrality metric value of each Init-Anchor from information communicated to the Global-Anchor in a first control phase. The Global Anchor may determine a slot schedule for a second control phase, wherein: determining the slot schedule is based on the centrality metric values of the plurality of Init-Anchors; the slot schedule comprises an allocation of time slots of the second control phase among the plurality of Init-Anchors for wireless radio frequency (RF) communication; and the allocation of time slots includes a first set of time slots for upstream communication followed by a second set of time slots for downstream communication. The Global Anchor may send the slot schedule to an Init-Anchor of the plurality of Init-Anchors.

Scalable and distributed inter-cluster coordination in UWB

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a first wireless communication device may transmit, to a second wireless communication device, a time and/or frequency synchronization message using a first radio frequency (RF) technology, wherein the time and/or frequency synchronization message is used to obtain synchronization information for a second RF technology. The first wireless communication device may transmit, to the second wireless communication device, a first set of ranging measurement signals associated with the second RF technology. The first wireless communication device may receive, from the second wireless communication device, a second set of ranging measurement signals associated with the second RF technology.
