Embodiments of the present invention substantially mitigate or prevent in-device and inter-device interference (e.g., AACI) by grouping wireless stations associated with an AP according to their estimated physical proximity with each other. The transmissions to/from STAs within a group can be coordinated so that a wireless transmission does not interfere with the wireless reception of another STA within the same group. In this way, desense is avoided and the wireless reception can be performed efficiently.

Systems and methods for avoiding interference between wireless devices in a wireless network

Systems and methods of transmitting and receiving a Wake-Up Radio (WUR) packet by using a simplified preamble structure that contains no training field. The preamble carries a signature sequence selected from a set of predefined sequences, each corresponding to a different data transmission rate. The preamble and the control information of the WUR packet are transmitted in the same rate as indicated by the selected sequence. Hence, a receiving WUR can determine the data transmission rate and locate the associated control information directly if a sequence that matches a predefined signature sequence is detected. The same sequence or in combination with an additional sequence in the preamble may also be used to indicate automatic gain control synchronization, packet type and other related information.

A method is disclosed, performed by a transmitting device, comprising computing a plurality of redundancy frames based on a plurality of data frames, transmitting the plurality of data frames to a receiving device, and transmitting a set of the plurality of redundancy frames to the receiving device determined by the transmitting device in response to receiving acknowledgement. One embodiment includes a method determining failed data frames of the plurality of data frames, requesting a set of the plurality of redundancy frames, and recovering the failed data frame using a decoder employing hard decision inputs. Other embodiments include an apparatus in a receiver device implementing the method of decoding the failed data frames using a decoder employing soft decision inputs.

Apparatus and methods for HARQ in a wireless network

Embodiments of the present invention are drawn to a computer-implemented process for automatically synchronizing TXOPs for a multi-link device (MLD) to improve wireless network performance and prevent IDC. The novel process can be performed by a multi-link device performing a multi-link operation, and the multi-link device can act as a wireless access point or a wireless station. Independent EDCA channel access can be performed at the multi-link device on a first wireless link and a second wireless link, and a back-off counter for a first wireless STA and a back-off counter for a second wireless STA are set according to the independent EDCA channel access. A TXOP is synchronously obtained on the first wireless link and the second wireless link responsive to the back-off counters expiring, and a multi-link operation is performed at the MLD using the first wireless link and the second wireless link during the TXOP.

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for synchronous independent channel access in a wireless network. The synchronous independent channel access can be performed by a wireless station having multiple transceivers for simultaneous communication over multiple wireless bands. A wireless station can connect wirelessly to a wireless access point to access a first primary wireless band during a transmission opportunity, and can use early access on a second primary wireless band without receiving a transmission opportunity. The transmission and reception of data frames over the different primary channels are synchronized to prevent or mitigate inter-channel interference. A method of data transmission over guard sub-carriers is provided in a multi-carrier OFDM system. Adjacent radio frequency (RF) carriers are used to carry radio signals transmitted through adjacent frequency channels. A plurality of guard sub-carriers between adjacent frequency channels are aligned and identified for data transmission in a pre-defined physical resource unit. The identified guard sub-carriers do not overlap with normal data sub-carriers of the radio signals transmitted through the adjacent frequency channels. At least one of the identified guard sub-carriers is reserved as NULL sub-carrier. A flexible multi-carrier transceiver architecture is also provided in a multi-carrier OFDM system. A receiver for receiving a target signal complying with a specific communication specification comprising a specific spectrum characteristic includes a detecting module for detecting a packet of an input signal, a transforming unit for transforming the packet from a time domain to a frequency domain to derive a spectrum characteristic of the input signal, and a determining unit for determining whether the input signal is the target signal according to the spectrum characteristic of the input signal. A method for estimating a phase error existing in a receiver of a MIMO OFDM communications system is disclosed. The method includes executing Hermitian transpose on channel coefficient matrix of the MIMO OFDM communications system for generating Hermitian-transposed channel coefficient matrix, multiplying received signal matrix of the receiver with the Hermitian-transposed channel coefficient matrix for generating converted signals, summing products of the converted signals and complex conjugates of pilot signals corresponding to the converted signals for generating a sum result, and generating the phase error according to the sum result, the converted signals, and the complex conjugates of the pilot signals. The pilot signals are extracted from the received signal matrix.

Method for estimating phase error in MIMO OFDM communications system

A frame synchronization method is disclosed. The method comprises correlating a stream with a pattern to generate a correlated result c(t). A first peak and a second peak are selected from the correlated result c(t), wherein the first peak is the peak with highest amplitude, and the second peak is the peak occurring later than the first peak with the second highest amplitude. The peak ratio of the two peaks is computed, and the position of the frame boundary is determined according to the ratio.

A communication device and a method of processing input data. The communication device, processing input data constituting at least one of data packet comprises a detection unit, an Automatic Gain Controller (AGC), a signal processor, a demodulator, a pre-detection module, and a Baseband module. The detection unit receives the input data to perform the packet detection. The Automatic Gain Controller, coupled to the detection unit, generates an adjusted data and a gain control parameter once packet is detected. The signal processor, coupled to the AGC, performs the data signal processing includes at least one of analog to digital transformation processing, radio frequency processing and baseband processing, and detects at least one of the desired signal, noise and interference. The demodulator, coupled to the signal processor, demodulates the processed data into a processed data according to at least one processing function of noise reduction, interference reduction, and signal compensation. The pre-detection module, coupled to the demodulator, determines whether a potential error has occurred in the demodulated input data by a pre-detection method prior completing retrieval of the data packet for performing a packet-based error check sequence, and performs a selection to decide whether the components need to be terminated and which of the components need to be terminated if there is a potential error occurred on the demodulated input data. The Baseband module, coupled to the demodulator, performs a packet-based error check on the data packet upon completing retrieval of the data packet if there is no potential error occurred on the demodulated input data.
