A method of narrowband physical downlink control channel (NPDCCH) monitoring with early decoding and reduced monitoring is proposed. Instead of blind decoding the NPDCCH at the end of each decoding instance, the UE tries to decode the NPDCCH at early decoding instances as well. The early decoding instances are determined based on the SNR of a received radio signal. Once NPDCCH is successfully decoded, UE stops the RF module. Furthermore, the UE skips some subframes for NPDCCH monitoring within each blind decoding interval, and turns on the RF only for synchronization and channel estimation purpose outside an NPDCCH monitoring length. The NPDCCH monitoring length is also determined based on the SNR of the received radio signal. By applying early decoding and reduced monitoring, UE power consumption can be reduced.

PDCCH monitoring for low power consumption for narrow band internet of things

Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and device for low power synchronization in wireless communication. The method waking an electronic device that communicates with a network from a low power mode to a working mode. The method may include transitioning from the low power mode to a pre-sync mode that includes a first phase having a first phase duration and a sleep phase having a sleep phase duration. A quality of synchronization signals transmitted on a first network carrier of the network during the first phase of the pre-sync mode can be detected, and the sleep phase duration of the sleep phase can be set based on at least the detected quality of the synchronization signals. During the pre-sync mode, the operation mode can transition from the first phase to the sleep phase when the sleep phase duration is greater than a sleep threshold.

Method and device for low power synchronization in wireless communication

Methods and apparatuses pertaining to uplink power consumption reduction for a Narrow Band-Internet of Things (NB-IoT) apparatus. The NB-IoT apparatus may transmit uplink data to a network apparatus via an uplink channel. The network apparatus may decode the uplink data. The network apparatus may further transmit an acknowledgement (ACK) indicator to the NB-IoT apparatus before receiving all the uplink data if the uplink data is decoded successfully. The NB-IoT apparatus may monitor whether an ACK indicator is received from the network apparatus during a transmission gap of the uplink channel. The NB-IoT apparatus may further terminate uplink data transmission if the ACK indicator is received.

Method and apparatus for uplink power consumption reduction in NB-IoT

Various methods of control-less data transmission for NB-IoT/NR devices have been proposed to improve efficiency and system capacity in cellular networks. In a first embodiment, a PDCCH-less operation is performed between eNB and UE. UE will blindly decode some PDSCH subframes according to the parameters configured by higher layer. In a second embodiment, a PDCCH-lite operation is performed between eNB and UE. UE may use one PDCCH to schedule more than one subsequent PDSCH resources. In a third embodiment, an extremely compact DCI (E-DCI) format is used between eNB and UE. When the same assignment parameters are used by the eNB for the UE, DCI overhead may be reduced by E-DCI. In a fourth embodiment, direct data transmission in PDCCH is performed between eNB and UE. Data transmission is directly transmitted by PDCCH with a new DCI format.

Control-less data transmission for narrow band internet of things

Narrowband downlink control channel (NB-PDCCH) design for Narrowband Internet of Thing (IoT) devices is proposed. In one novel aspect, NB-PDCCH spans both first and second slots in the region of legacy physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). A plurality of physical resource blocks (PRBs) is allocated for NB-PDCCH transmission that carry downlink control information (DCI). Furthermore, each NB-IoT device can be configured with nPRB pairs for NB-PDCCH transmission (e.g., n=1, 2, 4, or 8), and an NB-PDCCH transmission time interval (TTI) is composed by nsubframes. An NB-PDCCH is encoded and occupies multiple narrowband control channel elements (NCCEs) based on aggregation level. In a preferred embodiment, each PRB pair for NB-PDCCH occupies two NCCEs.

The method includes the steps of: receiving at least one data stream, wherein each data stream from the at least one data stream is transmitted from a wireless channel; in a first iteration, utilizing a Maximum Likelihood (ML) estimator to perform demapping processing on at least one portion of the at least one data stream to obtain Log-Likelihood Ratios (LLRs) of the first iteration and performing Turbo decoding according to the LLRs of the first iteration to generate resultant LLRs of the first Iteration; and in at least one following iteration, utilizing a Max A Posterior (MAP) estimator to perform demapping processing on at least one portion of the at least one data stream and performing Turbo decoding, successively, in order to cancel interference due to the wireless channel.

Method and apparatus for performing wireless communications with aid of successive data processing in multiple iterations

This invention relates to an equalization apparatus and an equalization method. A plurality of equalizers is applied to the equalization apparatus to eliminate interferences of multiple clusters in a channel. The weights of the equalizers are calculated under minimum mean square error criterion by gains of delay paths of multiple clusters in the whole channel. Therefore, the interference of different clusters in the whole channel can be greatly eliminated.

Method and apparatus for equalization in clustered channels

This invention relates to an equalization apparatus, an equalization method and a receiver using the same. Two equalizers are applied to the equalization apparatus to cover two clusters of a channel. The weights of the two equalizers are calculated by channel gains of the whole channel based on the minimum mean square error criterion. Therefore the interference of the whole channel due to different clusters can be reduced enormously.

The invention relates to a rake receiver and a method for de-spreading thereof. A plurality of noise branches is adopted for producing a plurality of noise components in the rake receiver. Next, a noise combining unit adjusts each noise component according to a plurality of noise weights, so as to combine the noise components to obtain an interference-plus-noise estimation value. The rake receiver eliminates the noises in the main signal generated by the signal branches through using the interference-plus-noise estimation value. Therefore, the performance of a receiving terminal can be enhanced.
